A BETTER SYSTEM THROUGH FREE ENTERPRISE – At the start of the video above it looks at how we perceive that our morals will override our materialistic needs every time. This is in fact not true for all of us, but certainly for the majority of people we think that doing something this bad just for the gain of something materials is not a good thing to do.
The video is primarily the argument for a system that rewards people for their patience and efforts which research has shown that those people, regardless of their income brackets, who have worked hard for what they have, are much happier and feel a true sense of achievement.
Now this statement is something that I wholeheartedly believe. An a failed entrepreneur I still feel as if I have achieved much and I do feel pretty good about myself.
Now you are probably asking yourself how on earth I can been satisfied about failure. The truth is that failure is not about being successful or not but rather not trying in the first place. Failure, or true failure as I like to refer to it is all those people who sit around moaning and groaning about their lot in life but have never actually tried to change their circumstance through free enterprise.
Trust me, if you start a business and fail you will have at least learned an awful lot about what you were doing, where you went wrong and most importantly learned a lot about yourself and your limits. Remember billion dollar companies are NOT created and managed by one person, it takes a team of people to see the vision and hiring people should be in the areas of where you are the weakest. Take away, or rather include a better link, in any chain and it becomes stronger.
If you are thinking about starting your own business then there is simply oodles of information you can gain from the video above, because it clearly shows that free enterprise not only rewards the individual but it provides greater benefits to the population as a whole, as it clearly teaches them that reward only comes from hard work.
Of course you could be one of those who would rather live of the hard work and innovation of others, which appears to be a growing trend and hence the problems we in the West are now experiencing with our Social Welfare Systems.
I have before mentioned the folly in the belief that governments should tax the rich heavily just to give to the poor. Again, the notion that this will make for a better society is simply folly. The French Government are currently experiencing an exodus of wealthy individuals and business due to its impending Socialist Tax – the idea is that the French Government want to impose a tax levy of 75% just so it can prop up its welfare system. Obviously the wealthy are not happy about this – why should they, for all their hard work be penalized by a Government to support many who simply are too lazy to work? Is it any surprise that these people are ditching the French nationalities in pursuit of other countries that are not so blinded by the Socialist trend of running a country?
From a moral standpoint I agree that taxation needs to be levied and that a proportion of that tax should go into a welfare system. However the system has to be fair in that it only supports those who are in real need and not those who simply want to live of the sweat of others because a liberalized socialist system allows them to.
It is amazing to think and in the 1930’s ship after ship after ship arrived at Ellis Island full of hopeful immigrants that were looking for a better way of life. Now move forward to 2013 and the same thing is happening across Europe. The major difference between the 1930’s and today is that back then immigrants were looking for opportunities afford to them by a society that believed wholeheartedly in free enterprise, whereas today the immigration movement is more about free money, free housing, free healthcare, free education and so on – most have little or no intention to add to society.
When you look at the state of education in the West there seems little in the way to prepare those who enter for the realities of life on the outside. These ill-equipped young people often fall foul to the welfare system in that apathy sets in with the realization that it is easier to simply draw a welfare check rather than be innovative and work.
Young people are being drawn into the idea that the wealthy are just capitalist pigs that hogs all the wealth and yet in reality these are the people who spread the most wealth throughout society, generally through the creation of jobs that in turn are tax and which pays for the welfare system.
A socialist system, regarding taking care of those who need taking care of, such as the elderly, the poor, the ill and those unable through disability is a good thing and a morally correct thing. However, turn this around and give to anyone who simply cannot be bothered to work because they will be taken care of is immoral.
If you want true happiness and as I said earlier studies have proven this to be the case then work for what you want.
Trust me… if you do venture in to the world of free enterprise and it doesn’t work out then don’t feel like a failure – again you will learn and awful lot and your next venture will stand a far greater chance.
The key, to any successful businessman, is that he or she is able to clearly identify their strengths and weakness and where the weaknesses occur find people to plug that gap, in add to the chain for strength.
Free enterprise and wealth are NOT a sin, nor is it immoral to be wealthy; the wealth gain is simply a measure of success and remembers you will be doing a far greater service to society as a whole through your free enterprise achievements.
