ARCHBISHOP DEMANDS MORE GOVERNMENT SPENDING ON FOREIGN AID – There are some people in this world that appear just a little detached from reality and there are those, such as The Most Reverend Justin Welby, the Archbishop of Canterbury, who are so detached that they are either living on a completely different plant or are the victims of continued substance abuse.
I’ve never really understood why the Government doesn’t tell the Church to put a sock in it. The Church and the likes of Welby really have no room to admonish others, or as in this case, demand anything.
If Welby and his merry band of imbeciles want to see foreign countries get more money then let the Church divvy up – it is after all the wealthiest organization in the world, whose wealth has been accumulated at the expense and misery of mankind.
Welby, no I’m not going to refer to this idiot by his title because it’s an empty chalice that holds nothing but the misery, degradation and evil of mankind; apparently had a chat with David Cameron and insisted that the hard working taxpayer should stump up more cash to give in foreign aid – no doubt to places like South Africa, where his friend and despot leader spent the last round of taxpayers’ funding on a luxury home for himself.
Question for Welby… how much of a kick-back of this foreign aid is you or the church getting? Please don’t try to tell me the church is doing this out of the will of God and for the preservation of humanity because that’s the last thing the church is interested in.
According to Welby he is imploring the British Government, and other Governments around the globe, to keep up the spending because in his professional view it’s working. He is right; it is working – working to help keep those in poverty exactly where they are while the few in Government get even richer.
Cameron did promise, after being elected, that he would continue to waste taxpayer’s money through the Foreign Aid scheme to the tune of 0.7% of the UK National Income. Currently the amount is 0.56% and that’s 0.56% that most of the British Public think is too much. It would be interesting to have a poll on the subject and I am almost positive that if such a poll was initiated it would probably show in excess of 80% of the British population are against any form of Foreign Aid.
If Cameron does keep his promise it will mean that Foreign Aid spending will increase to an eye-watering £10 billion a year. That’s approximately £158 for every man, woman and child living in the UK per annum.
It appears that the likes of Welby are unable to grasp any type of reality. If he was to take off those ridiculous robes and take a walk around the UK he would clearly see that many UK Citizens are living in poverty and that’s where the money ought to be spent.
Of course as Welby, Cameron and the rest of the out-of-touch morons sit down to their five course meal with expensive wine, it is understandable how they might think the UK is a garden full of beautifully scented roses. It must be wonderful to be shielded from the harsh realities of life by a cross, robe and a big fat paycheck.
While I am no fan of any politician, regardless to the party they are involved in, every now and then one does have something sensible to say and in this case it’s Douglas Carswell MP who oppose the increase and what Welby has to say by telling Cameron that most of the money is completely wasted through corruption and abuse by corrupt and inept regimes and that it is public knowledge that these countries and their people are simply no better off after billions have been thrown at them over the years.
According to a letter that Welby sent to the Financial Times he asserts that regardless of the financial troubles faced in the UK and the increased burden on the taxpayer there are no grounds for an excuse to cut aid spending. Well there you have it; he must be on drugs because unless Welby is clinically insane it would have to take Class A substance abuse to produce such nonsense.
I don’t want to appear unkind to those people, in foreign countries, who are in need, but it should NOT be our responsibility.
My message to Welby and the Church is this… If you are so concerned then take your pay packet and give it to the poor – you can keep £53.00 a week as this is what the Government provides for the unemployed in the UK.
If you are unable to give yourself then please close your mouth – it is better to keep your mouth shut and be presumed a fool rather than open it and remove doubt.
You need to keep your nose firmly out of politics and concentrate on leading your wayward flock, as you refer to them.
I doubt Welby or the Church will take this advice as it is clear knowledge that the Church has generated its vast net worth over the years on the back of the poor and ignorant and not doubt this will continue to be the case for the foreseeable future. God (if there is one) help us.
