BEAR ATTACKS A MONKEY IN SICK CHINESE CIRCUS RACE – Will anyone really be surprised that the barbarism of animal shows in China is once again in the spotlight?
While Western countries have adopted firm Animal Rights and a healthier respect for other members that inhabit this planet it appears that the Chinese view animals as nothing more than toys and or food. They continuously fail to understand that this is, and always will be viewed, as an unnecessary and humiliating experience for animals.
In the latest atrocity in animal rights this video depicts a packed audience at a Chinese circus where two Monkeys’ and a Bear are forced to ride and race around a circuit on bicycles.
After just the second lap, one of the monkeys crashes to the ground, trapping it under the bike. At the bear approaches it dismounts its bike and begins a terrify attack on the helpless monkey as the bear relentlessly mauls the defenseless creature.
The venue is believed to be the Shanghai Wild Animal Park which has hit news headlines on more than one occasion and been the subject of undercover investigation numerous times in the past.
The audience can be heard laughing and cheering at the spectacle leaving many comments on news site that vilifies the Chinese for being so cruel and insensitive to the needs and rights of animals.
China is certainly no stranger to controversy when it comes to animal cruelty; a recent article on Fur Farms highlighted the plight of animals that are subjected to the most horrific abuse in the pursuit of profiting from their pelts.
Bears and Monkeys are simply not designed, by nature, to ride a bike and this humiliating display will only fuel the distain that Westerners level at the Chinese population.
During the bear’s attack, trainers are seen desperately trying to stop the monkey from being killed and set about beating the bear with long canes. Eventually the monkey is freed but it is unclear as to the extent of its injuries.
A number of Animal Rights campaign groups have again voiced their concerns over the level of abuse these performing animals are subjected to and yet despite the on-going condemnation the Chinese simply choose to ignore cries to put an end to such a cruel and unnecessary form of human entertainment.
It is sometimes very easy for Westerners to point the finger and admonish others however the truth is that Western society uses a variety of animals, including Elephants, Monkeys, Seals, Lions, Tigers, Killer Whales, Dolphins and a plethora of other species in Theme Parks and Circuses in order to entertain people.
There is, and can no longer be, any form of justification for keeping a wild animal caged for the purpose of entertainment and until it is fully eradicated from Western society the Chinese, along with all other countries, will simply look at us and wonder how we can point the finger of blame when we ourselves engage in such vile activities.
