BEST FILM ARGO BEING RIDICULED BY THE BRITISH FOR ITS LIES – We all like a good movies with lots of action and intrigue but questions are being asked by the integrity of Hollywood, it’s Movie Directors and Actors over the latest movie Argo, which just one Best Film for its Director and main Actor Ben Affleck.
It was reported that many movie goers have been admonishing the British over their role in the 1979 siege of the American Embassy in Tehran, in which Iranian Students stormed the US and British Embassies, holding a number of diplomats hostage, during the Islamic Revolution.
The movie has basically made the British to look like cowards as it depicts that the British refused to give assistance and sanctuary to a number of Americans that had escaped the US Embassy.
However, once again Hollywood and its Movie Directors appear to be more than liberal with the truth as it is a known fact that the British did in fact help the Americans and put many British personnel in grave danger by doing so.

This is certainly not the first time that Hollywood has made the British out to be the bad guy. Mel Gibson did exactly the same thing with Braveheart; which clearly depicted the British as the aggressors and tyrants; something of which was far from the truth.
In another example the Americans, by Hollywood’s own admission, is the savior of World War 2, with the movies Saving Private Ryan and U-571. In Saving Private Ryan Hollywood made the Normandy landings on D-Day to appear as if only American troops had landed on the beach and saved the day. In U-571, and according to Hollywood, it was an American Submarine that managed to capture the Enigma De-coder where in fact it was a joint effort between the British and the Polish.
Once again, Hollywood is being rightly accused of Brit-Bashing as it makes us out to be some medieval imperialistic state that simply turns its back on its friends in times of need or that World War 2 victory was only accomplished by the Americans and that other forces, such as the British, French Resistance, Polish and other nations really didn’t have much of a role.
I am all for a good movie, but I do take offense when Hollywood and the likes of Ben Affleck take it upon themselves to feed lies to the audience. The movie Argo, while powerful in its representation, does little for the appearance of integrity by either Hollywood or Ben Affleck, both of whom should be thoroughly ashamed of themselves.
