BOSTON MARATHON BOMBER CAPTURED ALIVE – 19 year old Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, the brother of the other Boston bomber, Tamerlan Tsarnaev who was killed yesterday in a police shootout, has been captured by authorities ALIVE!
Police cornered Dzhokhar Tsarnaev who was hiding out in a boat. He was captured with wounds but was still alive and is now being treated at a nearby hospital under close guard.
After Dzhokhar Tsarnaev arrest there was a visible relief on all law enforcement faces as applause broke out in congratulating one another for a job well done.
Another transit police officer is also being treated today for wounds received in the shootout with both Dzhokhar Tsarnaev and Tamerlan Tsarnaev as they tried to escape. It is believed the officer is in stable position.
Thousands of happy and relieved Watertown residents took to the streets once the news broke to celebrate the capture and to congratulate and thank the authorities, including the FBI, SWAT, AFT and local police for their hard work and professionalism in tracking down the Boston Marathon Bombers.
Boston Police Commissioner Ed Davis took to his Twitter account and announced; “It’s a proud day to be a Boston Police Officer. Thank you all.”
The events over the last few days appear to have moved so quickly. Form the initial reports of two explosions to the killing of one suspect and the capture of another had taken just a few days. There is no doubt that the authorities wanted swift resolution as to who was responsible for this atrocity and now the question remains… why?
How was Dzhokhar Tsarnaev found? David Henneberry, the owner of the boat in which Dzhokhar Tsarnaev was hiding, came out to check after the curfew was lifted. He noticed blood on the side of his boat and after lifting the cover he discovered a young man inside wounded. David immediately ran back to the house and called the authorities.
Within minutes the FBI, SWAT and local Police had surrounded the area and sent in a Bearcat (a robotic device used for surveillance). When the Bearcat surveyed the area it delivered tear gas to subdue the suspect.
New developments are also occurring at the Boston Globe reports that the authorities have taken three other people into custom in connection with the Boston Marathon bombings in New Bedford, Massachusetts, some 65 mile south of the city but as yet it is unclear how these people are connected to the investigation.
Authorities also confirmed that they had uncovered a cache of explosives on Friday and that a number of bombs had been discovered; all now have been made safe and the authorities continue to comb the area just in case any other devices had been left.
The people of Boston will be breathing a sigh of relief today in knowing that their law enforcement has done an outstanding job of tracking down the suspects and bringing one into custody alive within a matter of days.
There is no doubt that the internet played a big part in the tracking down and capture of the bombers as many internet users turned detectives to uncover their identities and then passed on information to the authorities. This was very much a collective effort where the people and the authorities came together and worked diligently to solve the case.
