CONVICTED CRIMINAL CHRIS HUHNE LANDS HIGH PAYING JOB – The ‘old boys’ network is alive and well in Westminster and the wagons have well and truly been circled for one of their own, Chris Huhne, is provided with a job at an energy company at £100,000 a year.
For the convicted criminal, Chris Huhne, there’s a sweetener to the deal that he struck with Zilkha Biomass Energy for his position as it only requires him to work for just two days of the week.
We are told that crime doesn’t pay but I’m sure that one will have you rolling around laughing. Crime, it appears, is the only way to get ahead in life but where most criminals fall is that they fail to obtain a Government position; for if they did then crime not only becomes a way of life it is also extremely rewarding.
So why is Chris Huhne, a convicted crime, given a job by an American energy company? The answer is of course obvious in that Chris Huhne was once, before being sent to prison, the Energy Secretary and his new employer, Zilkha Biomass Energy, obviously feel they are able to use his ‘inside’ connections.
They are of course they are perfectly correct for Huhne will unlikely have any compunctions about approaching old school chums and political colleagues to help his new employer get rich off the back of the taxpayer.
I had to chuckle when I read Zilkha Biomass Energy website statement on the appointment of Chris Huhne; it stated that “Mr. Huhne is a pioneer in calling for political action to deal with global warming.”
For those of you who need this translating it reads; “We employed Mr. Huhne due to his political connects in order that we will be able to dip our fingers in the taxpayers’ purse, that will boost profitability and keep our shareholders happy.”
Chris Huhne didn’t exactly commit the crime of the century when he was convicted; this imbecile simply thought his position of power would allow him to avoid a driving ban by fraudulently passing penalty points on to his accomplice and former wife Vicky Pryce – both were later imprisoned for lesser crime of ‘perverting the course of justice’; a cop-out that saw them sentenced to 8 months imprisonment and then released just 8 weeks later.
Again the ‘old boys’ network’ works well for those in the inner circle; just look at how Vicky Pryce has been handed jobs at the taxpayers’ expense.
If I had my way I’d put every politician out of work in a week and condemn them to sleeping rough under Westminster Bridge; although on reflection that is rather an unpleasant prospect for the homeless currently residing there.
I have little or no time for the thieves, liars, murderers and general criminal population that currently reside in power and yet I am perplexed why the British people appear so blasé about what our politicians get up to.
Once again an ex-politician and convicted criminal has engaged in the game of subterfuge that will no doubt cost the British taxpayer a pretty penny or two. Two things are crystal clear; Huhne won’t be suffering from the Government’s austerity measures and I suspect Zilkha Biomass Energy will do very nicely from the taxpayer with Huhne’s inside connections.
The Government are denying that Huhne or Zilkha Biomass Energy have any political connections and I suspect this statement will hold as much water as a colander with the British public.
