ETHIOPIAN FARMER CLAIMS TO BE 160 YEARS OLD – A retired Ethiopian farmer, Dhaqabo Ebba, claims to be 160 years old and even vividly remembers living through the Italian invasion in 1895.
Unfortunately, due to his age, there are no actual paper records of his birth, however he is able to describe in detail how he lived through the Italian invasion; I doubt most people reading this (including myself) was even aware that the Italian’s invaded Ethiopia; crafty devils.
What I can say; regarding the photograph available, is that if Mr. Ebba is indeed 160 years old then he looks extremely well; in fact I wouldn’t have put him a day over 75.
The reporter who broke the story, Mohammed Ademo, told readers that he was utterly convinced of the Mr. Ebba’s age after sitting with him and being given a detailed history lesson and came to the conclusion that Mr. Ebba must be at least 160 years old; if not older.
If such a thing is true it would make Mr. Ebba 46 years older than the oldest person ever to have been recorded to live.
Currently the record holder is that of Jeanne Calment who died at the age of 122 years and 164 days back in 1997.
The current Guinness World Record holder for a living person is that of 115 year old Misao Okawa, but if the medical profession can establish Mr. Ebba’s age then this would blow that record out of the water.
The last person on record to have lived in the 19th Century is that of Jiroemon Kimura, born April 19, 1897 in Japan. Mr. Kimura sadly passed away in June of this year leaving behind 14 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren and 15 great-great grandchildren.
Currently it is reported that Mr. Ebba is undergoing a number of medical tests which should reveal his true age; or at least something very close to it.
