EVIAN DANCING BABIES ARE BACK – So popular was the Evian Babies advertisement that Evian simply had to make a new advertisement featuring their famous baby dancers.
The new advertisement, see main video above, is not only a brilliant piece of advertising but also thoroughly entertaining.
So far the new advertisement has produced nearly 31 million and it’s only a couple of weeks old. During its first week alone the advertisement was viewed over 29 million times and is testament that people love to be entertained while they are having a product plugged at them.
The Evian Babies, Black Eye Peas, Pump It Up routine gained over 36 million views and I couldn’t resist including it here, just in case anyone missed it.
As any advertising agency or business how difficult it is to create something that will go viral and they will openly admit that viral marketing is not only the ‘holy grail’ of marketing but it is extremely difficult to achieve.
For an item to go viral on the social networks key elements have to be achieved, including originality and either pure entertainment value or something that carries the shock factor. Whatever you decide to create it must produce the one key ingredient that promotes web users into thinking; ‘I simply must share this.’
I have to admit I’ve spent hours, even day, trying to create something that could go viral. For most businesses the benefits are enormous and could take a small online business from zero to hero is a very short space of time.
There is no question that Evian has hit on a note and that the public have developed a love affair on the back of the Dancing Babies. The marketing agency BETC hit on the idea that the babies go hand in hand with the purity of babies and the water that Evian produce. It was a simply concept with extremely complex filming but this has certainly paid off.
This is not the first time that Evian has used the Dancing Babies, as you can see from the video above, however Evian, in 2009, entered the Guinness World Records for the most viewed online advertisement after its Roller Babies offering went viral and achieved a staggering 65 million views.
