FATHER KILLS NEWBORN BABY BECAUSE HE LOST A FOOTBALL BET – My views are well documented on Meebal.com regarding how I would like to see the reinstatement of both Corporal and Capital Punishment.
I’ve been called everything from a cold heartless b****** to Lucifer himself by the bleeding liberal hearts that still appear to rule our minds in the UK.
I am of course not suggesting, and never would, that all criminals should be publicly flogged or all murderers be swung from a rope, but it is times like this that the death penalty at least appears to be a very justifiable option.
Mark Lackenby, has a little bet of just £2.50 that Arsenal would score the first goal against Barcelona in the Champions league match. Unfortunately for his newborn baby daughter that wasn’t the case; and in a fit of rage he shook her so violently that she suffered massive brain trauma and died.
This was not the first time this nasty piece of work took his frustrations out on his newborn daughter as the autopsy revealed.
The jury at Sheffield Crown Court, found Lackenby guilty of manslaughter but cleared him of murder. Technically, under English Law, for murder to be established there must be intent and therefore manslaughter was the verdict possible.
Lackenby was also found guilty of grievous bodily harm due to autopsy reports noting that the baby’s ribs had been broken a week before her death, of which Lackenby admitted to doing.
“It’s frankly despicable and defies belief that anyone could do such a thing to their own baby in such circumstances.” Judge, Mr Justice Haddon-Cave
Despite what you may think to my views on Corporal and Capital punishment, I am a reasonable person, and yet I fail to see how justice prevailed in this case.
Mark Lackenby received a 10 year sentence for grievous bodily harm and manslaughter to a harmless child. Where is the justice? The minimum should have been life in prison, without the possibility of parole, and yet in probably less than 6 years he will be a free man. Still think my views of punishment are antiquated and draconian?
