GOOGLE WHISLEBLOWER TELLS HOW GOOGLE AVOIDS PAYING UK TAX – Corporation Tax is highly complex but when you have a Government that allows outside tax firms to effectively write tax law is it any surprise that these firms then advise their clients how to avoid paying tax on UK profits?

In 2011 Google, according to reports, generated over £3 billion in sales revenue and yet paid just £7 million in Corporation Tax.

Google argues that the sales were not made in the UK, where a tax rate of 23% is imposed, but rather in Ireland where the tax rate is less than half that levied in the UK.

A Whistleblower, Barney Jones, who worked as part of the Advertising Sales force in the UK for Google has come out and told officials that Advertising Sales are indeed made in the UK and then payment is asked for by their Irish operations; effectively making the sales look like they came from Ireland instead of the UK.

Barney Jones reports that he has over 100,000 emails that exposes Google’s ‘immoral’ tax avoidance scheme.

The system in which Google employs to avoid tax is relatively straightforward.  If Barney Jones is correct then sales are firstly made in the UK but the actual billing takes place in Ireland to avoid the UK’s higher tax rate.  The profits are then channeled through Bermuda, a tax haven, which then reduces its liability to the Irish Government and the UK Government.

Many UK firms, especially small firms, are astonished that Google is able to avoid paying tax this way; especially in the light that HMRC spare no expense in hounding small and medium sized enterprises to ensure that every possible penny in tax is paid over.

David Cameron will in the next G8 summit to be held next month ask world leaders to find ways to prevent multinational firm from exploiting tax loopholes.

Last week it was announced that MPs are likely to see their salaries rise from £65,000 to £75,000 and many MPs have begun justifying the raise stating that even at £75,000 this is still way below what a ‘professional’ receives while working in London.  The truth is that MPs are not professionals and rarely have adequate qualifications for their positions. The creation of tax legislation itself is a clear demonstration of this fact whereby, as pointed out above, the Government employs outside expert assistance in order to create tax law.

David Cameron is due to meet with Google’s chairman, Eric Schmidt this week in the quarterly ‘Business Advisory Group’ which again clearly demonstrates the lack of ‘professionals’ in Government.

There is no doubt that Google’s tax avoidance will be brought up and little doubt that Eric Schmidt will no doubt mirror Matt Brittin’s, a vice president of Google, comments in the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) earlier last week in that sales revenue is generated in Ireland and NOT in the UK.

Whilst this is seen by all as immoral it doesn’t stop businesses from buying Google’s advertising products and doing something immoral doesn’t make it illegal.  Tax avoidance is perfectly legal and company chiefs have an obligation to their shareholders to reduce costs in order to deliver higher profits and dividends.  It is up to the legislators to make sure that companies like Google pay their fair share of tax. Unfortunately when you have incompetent people who lie about their level of professionalism then it is not surprise that the tax system has more holes that my granny’s doilies.

Google has grown into the most powerful company operating on the internet and in turn is now putting many small and medium sized companies out of business due to its practices of manipulating the its Search Engine results.

In 2011 the U.S Justice Department declared that it could find no evidence that Google was manipulating its search results in order to stifle the competition. This ruling was in direct conflict with the EU Commissions findings earlier this year which clearly indicated that Google was manipulating its search engine in order to push out competing companies for Google’s own services.

Duplicate content, as far as Google is concerned, is not allowed and yet two major European newspapers threatened to sue Google last years for effectively stealing their content that was then used on Google News and which ranked well above the original content.

Google has now admitted to manipulating its search results and has vowed to end the practice in order to avoid massive fines from the EU.  As yet Google has not demonstrated any such action and remains to outrank many of its competitors for its own financial gain.

Last week a small website, Hometipster.com, announced that it would no longer be dictated too by Google.  After 2 years of trying to comply with Google’s Guidelines it found that YouTube still consistently ranked above its original content and this is surprising when Google’s algorithms are unable to determine the content of a video.

Hometipster.com, a Home and Garden website, announced that it was turning its back on Google and while it wouldn’t prevent Google from indexing its content it would no longer spend time, effort or cash in trying to rank better.  Its owners announced that the only one that should be able to judge the quality of the content should be the user and if the quality is to their liking then they will share it via their social networks and thus increase exposure.

There is little doubt in many people’s eyes that Google now controls the web through its search algorithms and its ever increasing level of online services; none of which are subjected to its own algorithms.  This places Google at a manipulated competitive advantage that few can compete with consider Google has a search market share of over 95%.  These unfair trade practices only helps Google to spread its influence around the globe and in return generate vast profits that are then channeled multiple times through various countries in order to avoid paying tax and there is little Government can do while it continues to employ experts that ultimately work for companies such as Google.

CAMERON FACING ANOTHER DEFEAT IN THE COMMONS OVER GAY MARRIAGE – It’s beginning to look like there are not as many homophobic MP’s as initially suspected as it is announced that despite Cameron’s views that Gay Marriages would undermine the institution of marriage, MP’s from within the Tory Party, and those from Labour and Liberal Democrat, are prepared to vote allowing homosexuals legally marry and have civil partnerships.

As the days pass it looks more and more likely that a revolt is occurring in Westminster and I wonder how long it will be before Cameron is asked to step down as Prime Minister and Party Leader.

Just in the last few days another snide remark from Cameron has landed him in hot water over allegedly labeling Tory activists ‘mad, swivel-eyed loons’.  On top of that Geoffrey Howe said that Cameron was ‘running scared’ on Europe and then the Bank of England Governor announced to the press that Cameron’s Mortgage Guarantee Scheme risks yet another sub-prime mortgage loans crisis.

Many Tory MPs and back-benchers feel that Cameron is creating a crisis of right-wing conservatism that divides him further from public opinion.  This is also creating a deep division within the Tory Party itself and as it grows this will reduce the chance of a Tory victory in the next General Election.

According to government sources opening up civil partnerships and gay marriages would cost the Government approximately £4 billion in lost taxes through tax allowances for co-habiting and married couples.

However it does go deep as increased spouse rights and public sector pensions will also see the treasury lose billions. There is talk that the Treasury could demand that the entire Marriage (Same Sex Couples) Bill be scraped in order to stave off the loss of revenue to the Treasury.

I am beginning to wonder if the Ministers have explored the opportunities of the vast sums of money that could be saved if we pulled out of the EU.  It is about time that Same Sex marriages were recognized; are we not supposed to live in enlightened times.

Of course the Church of England is opposed to gay marriages; which is surprising considering the number of gay clergyman roaming around the institution.

It is little surprising that the Muslims have come out to denounced gay marriages and in fact as far as they are concerned all homosexuals should be stoned to death.  The Muslim community however should not have a say in the matter; the UK is a Christian country NOT an Islamic one and the public consensus on that issue is clear – you know where the door is if you don’t like it.

I rarely, if ever, side with the Left-Wing Liberal Democrats but on this occasion I have to say they have got it right.  Gay people should be able to get married if that is what they want; they are human beings with feelings and in this so-called enlightened age being gay should not be seen as some type of disease or an affront to public decency.

After reading several news articles on this subject it has become clear that the ‘moral issue’ is in fact not the issue but rather the ‘cost issue’ is the determining factor – some Government figures are simply worried at the enormous cost to the taxpayer.

It has just been announced that the annual review of MP salaries will likely increase an MP’s annual salary from £65,000 a year to £75,000.  Many are complaining that this is a ‘pittance’ too which all I can say is they must be delighted that they don’t have to live on my £200 a month (and sometimes much less).

Being an MP really does appear to be all about lining your own pockets; in a similar fashion to how Tony Blair has done.  Being an MP should be viewed as a privilege and an honour however this is not how MP’s see it.  One MP remarked the other day that their salary, even with the increase of £10,000 is peanuts for a professional working in London.

As for that remark I have this to say… find me the professional in Parliament would be akin to finding a three-headed baboon in a zoo. If Parliament were run by professionals why does the Government insist on bring in tax consultants to write tax legislation that allows corporations to avoid paying tax?

If I had my way each MP would be subjected to minimum wage and then maybe they could really connect with the working class taxpayer and feel the strain of daily life as they do.

It is expected that more than 150 Tory MPs are likely to defy the Prime Minister on a separate amendment to the bill which would effectively exempt teachers from prosecution if they taught children that gay marriage is wrong and provide immunity for registrars who refused to conduct gay marriages.

I honestly cannot see the issue here and why some are so opposed to gay marriage.  It amazes me that some people are quite willing to allow criminals to viewed as victims and yet only admonish those over their sexual preference.  It just appears that we have lost all sense of reality.  We have bigger issues in the UK to worry about and this should really not be debated at all but rather simply put in to law and allow gay people to have their rights.

What are we really frightened of here? Take a closer look at the homosexual community and ask yourself when was the last time you heard of gay people going out in groups ‘hetro-bashing’ or being involved in a violent demonstration?

Funny isn’t it that gay people are extremely passive, often gentle, kind and a loving people and yet Christians and Muslims are quite happy to call upon others to act violently against these groups.

PUBLIC SUPPORT FOR UKIP CONTINUES TO GROW – According to the latest ComRes Polls support for UKIP has risen by a record 19% and continues to woo voters away from the Conservatives, Labour and Liberal Democrats despite some unsavoury news this past week.

Last week certainly was a case of trials and tribulations.  First to hit the news was UKIP Councillor Eric Kitson, 59 who resigned after posting a number of racially charged messages on Muslims on his Facebook account.

Next came the party leader’s ordeal of being barricaded in a Scottish pub by protestors from the Scottish Nationalist whose anti-English sentiment spilled over in a heated debate with Nigel Farage having to be escorted out under the protection of the police.

While there are those who suggested this damaged his credibility it did in fact demonstrate that Nigel was more than capable of facing down adversity and only enforces supporters’ belief that he is more than capable of holding his own in a argument; no matter how hostile the opposition happens to be.

Finally came the story of Alex Wood, a UKIP candidate for Blackmore Vale in Somerset, who was suspended from the party last month after being caught on camera apparently making a Nazi salute, bringing further scandal to the party.

Regardless of a turbulent week research has clearly showed a healthy surge in support from the UK public for UKIP and clearly demonstrates how the Conservative, Labour and Liberal Democrats parties are floundering in the eyes of the British public.

According to the ComRef Polls Labour had taken a further beating in public support with just 35% while the Conservatives flounder at 29%.  The Liberal Democrats appear unchanged at just 8% of the national vote which now clearly indicates that the public are continuing to lose faith in all of the major parties.

Many politicians have been calling on David Cameron to change his public image.  The once campaign of ‘Call me Dave’ simply does not hold water as the voters feel that Cameron is completely out of touch and detached from public opinion.

On the other hand the public appear to be connecting with Nigel Farage and viewing him as a normal guy on the street who simply wants to turn Britain around and make it prosperous and proud once again.

I actually undertook a little test last week and posted a comment on David Cameron’s twitter page asking him to respond to an article I had written.  I suspected at the time that I would receive no such reply and in fact that was the case.  This leads me to believe that Cameron couldn’t care less about the voting public.

On the other side of the coin I emailed Nigel Farage and within less than a day I received a very nice reply from his secretary who answered a number of my questions and assured me that my email would be passed onto Nigel.

Considering UKIP responded and the Tories didn’t even acknowledge my existence is it little wonder than my vote will be going to UKIP in the next General Election.

I, like any other voter, simply wants to be heard and wants acknowledgment that my concerns are valid.  Simply continuing to ignore the electorate is not going to get the Tories re-elected and it is most unlikely, at this rate, that Cameron will retain his leadership in the Party.

ILLEGAL PHUKET TAXI DRIVER TRIES TO RAPE YOUNG TOURIST – For a long time foreign Honoury Consuls and Ambassadors have pleaded with the Thai Government and Phuket’s local authorities to end illegal taxis and introduce safe public transport on the holiday island.

Tuk Tuk’s ONLY – Park in a Public parking place and you are likely to get a beating from the Tuk Tuk Mafia.

There have been numerous talks with Thai Officials and illegal taxi driver, all of whom are controlled by influential, powerful and corruption officials.  The results have always been the same; the officials demand change and the taxi drivers threaten road blocks and violence in order to maintain their grip on extorting tourist with exorbitant fares.

In this latest incident a young Chinese tourist reported to the Police that a taxi driver picked her up from Phuket International Airport, locked her in the his taxi for hours, keeping her prisoner and tried to rape her.

The 19 year old tourist detailed her ordeal with two Thai women who eventually helped her escape and seek assistance from the police.

The young tourist has detailed her ordeal to the press and stated that the Thai Police were reluctant to file a report of rape or abduction in order to protect the image of tourism.

Local reporters have contacted the Chinese Deputy Consul who stated that he had no report from the Thai Police and that this is a clear violation of protocol and neglect.

Many Consuls have noted that standards of communication and the acknowledgement of crime against foreign nationals have slipped since the once quarterly meetings were ceased by the Governor of Phuket in September 2012.  This is seen by many as an attempt to hide the rising crime against tourists and allow for rape, muggings, scams and even murder to be conveniently ignored or swept under the carpet.

In her report to the police she detailed how the taxi driver locked her in his taxi and drove around the island for hours insisting that he would not let her go until she had sex with him.  He repeatedly pulled over and attempted to grab her breasts and kiss her.  The ordeal lasted over 4 hours and ended after the taxi driver ran out of fuel at approximately 9pm.

As the taxi driver left her locked in the vehicle to get fuel two Thai women were alerted by her screams and banging on the window pleading for help.

When the taxi driver returned he was confronted by the two Thai women and told them that the young girl didn’t know where she wanted to go and was therefore driving around trying to help her find suitable hotel accommodation.

“It doesn’t matter if a few tourists are scammed by Thais because Farang (the term is used for any foreigner as Thais simply do not have the intelligence to differentiate between different nationalities) have ‘Big Money’ and can afford it.”

The two Thai women asked to remain anonymous as they feared repercussions from the Taxi Mafia.

The two women took the young girl to the Tourist Police but they showed little interest and refused to take notes.  After failing to get the Tourist Police to deal with the allegation she was then taken to the Phuket City Police Station however they said that this was outside their jurisdiction and referred the matter back to the Tourist Police.

After being forced to take action the Tourist Police announced that the taxi driver had been arrested but denied attempted rape, abduction or kidnapping.  According to the young girls report she scratched the taxi drivers arms on more than one occasion and indeed the taxi drivers arms were scratched.  The taxi driver was tested for drugs which proved positive.

It has long been believed that the hold the Taxi Mafia have over the islands transport system but in a society bathed in corruption, intimidate, violence and murder it is unlikely that any public transport system will be introduced anytime soon.

IS CAMERON ABOUT TO DIVORCE CLEGG AND CALL FOR AN EARLY ELECTION? – Most couples when faced with irreconcilable differences split and the cracks in the Tory / Liberal Democrat Coalition have been widening ever further and neither side can agree on what needs to be done in order take the UK out of its economical gloom.

It’s not the finances that are in disarray but that of Health Care, Immigration and the biggest issue on the minds of the electorate, our membership in the EU.

“The best way to do that is to continue with the Coalition, but if that wasn’t the case then we’d have to face the new circumstances in whatever way we should.” David Cameron, Prime Minister

In an interview with Total Politics Magazine David Cameron vented his frustrations at the Coalition stating that he was there to do a job for the good of the country but without being able to fulfill its manifesto due to the conflicts in what needs doing then maybe we should ‘face new consequence’.

I like the way a politician spins their words but the innuendo is clear in that if Cameron and Clegg cannot begin to agree on certain policies then the only course of action is for Cameron to split with the Coalition and ask Her Majesty’s permission to call a General Election.

There is little doubt that he electorate no longer trusts the Liberal Democrats and in particular Nick Clegg.  It is likely, in the event of a breakdown of the Coalition, that Clegg will be called to step down as leader of the Liberal Democrat Party.

Where does this leave the Conservatives?  From the public’s perception David Cameron is completely out of touch with what the people want.  He continuously dodges and weaves in the face of an EU referendum, one minute supporting it and the next saying he’ll force the EU into a better deal.

The UK has yet again been forced to cough up an additional £770 million for the EU and this again enforces the public’s belief that Cameron simply is not forceful enough with Brussels to enable costs to be cut from the British taxpayer.

Nigel Farage – Local Election Victory

Considering the Coalition marriage it is clear for anyone to see that it has never worked; there simply is no synergy in political goals and while opposites may attract they often fail.  The UK needs a unified Government but even if Cameron calls a General Election it is likely that another Coalition will be formed in order to form a Government.

Who will win the next General Election?  None of the above would be the honest answer and certainly not the Labour Party.  With over 12 years of Labour rule this has lead to an economy in ruins, rampant immigration and heightened interference from the un-elected EU Commissioners in Brussels.

While UKIP continue to surge in the polls, now reported to be 19% of the UK vote, it is a long way off from securing a totally UKIP run Government.

The likely scenario at this juncture would be a Tory / UKIP Coalition but how would that fair in the halls of Parliament considering David Cameron’s views on staying in the EU whilst Nigel Farage is adamant the UK needs to pull out of EU.

Whether Cameron is able and willing to work with UKIP, who he views as nothing more than ‘fruit cakes’ and ‘closet racists’ is doubtful and yet he may not have a choice if he wants to sit again in the Prime Ministers chair.

There is of course Nigel Farage who recently told the press that he would join forces with the Tory Party if David Cameron resigned.

Considering the two opposing views and the fact that neither agree with one another it is almost a foregone conclusion that another colour of Coalition wouldn’t work any better than the existing one.

For a Coalition Government to work requires finding the ‘no man’s land’ or ‘middle ground’ in order to find some for of common ground on which they can work from. Unfortunately this has never materialized with the David Cameron and Nick Clegg and their divisions of policies have only caused more damage to the country with little or no decisive direction.

Apart from the problems David Cameron has with Nick Clegg he is now embattled with his own ministers and back-benchers over the issue of an EU referendum.  Once again David Cameron finds himself cornered and resorting to name calling; this time he attempted to deride EU rebels by referring to them as all ‘swivel-eyed loons’.

You would have thought that David Cameron, after referring to UKIP as ‘fruit cakes’ and ‘closet racists’ that he would have learned the lesson that such naming calling really doesn’t cut the mustard with the voting public.  Indeed just before the local elections Cameron wheeled out Ken Clark in order to force the message home that anyone voting for UKIP are nothing more than fruit cakes and closet racists – a decision that he now fully regrets due to the consequences of being thoroughly humiliated in the elections.

While I was a staunch supporter of the Conservative Party for years my alliance now moves to UKIP because Cameron is simply one of the most ineffectual Prime Ministers the UK has ever seen and there is nobody in the party that I have sufficient confidence to vote for.

With all the news I read on a daily basis there is little doubt that we currently have a hung jury on who will lead this country after the next General Election but as the situation stands now it is likely that another Coalition will be formed, this time with the Tories and UKIP.  I personally would like to see a UKIP outright victory and see if they can actually turn this mess around.

GRAN TURISMO 6 COMING JULY 2013 – Sony Computer Entertainment Inc have announced that Gran Turismo 6 will be availing in July 2013.

For the last 15 years the creators of Gran Turismo have thrilled computer racing petrol heads and there is little doubt that Gran Turismo will be a massive hit for Sony.

Gran Turismo’s creator, Kazunori Yamauchi, recently announced that during the last 15 years some 70 million copies of the game, in the different reincarnations, have been sold worldwide and that Sony expects Gran Turismo 6 to be one of its biggest hits with fans of the racing game.

Take a look at the Gran Turismo 6 trailer above and you will quickly realize it is packed with new cars and tracks but also retain all of the existing cars and tracks from Gran Turismo 5 in order to give the gamer the ultimate simulated racing game ever.

All in all the number of cars available in Gran Turismo 6 now stands at a salivating 1,200 which will give even the hardcore gamers enough entertainment to last a very long time.

Gran Turismo 6 will also feature seven new locations, including the famous Silverstone Circuit.  Sony claims the new game engine now produces images that are even more life-like in order to allow the gamer a far more realistic experience.

I for one will be polishing my PS3 this July and waiting with great anticipation for the game to hit the high-street as Gran Turismo remains one of my all-time gaming experience.

DEBATE ON EUROPEAN IMMIGRATION – The video above address some excellent points, both for and against European Immigration and particularly the 2014 Right of Free Movement which will allows millions of Bulgarians and Romanians to move and work freely throughout EU member states.

The United Kingdom has often been viewed as a ‘soft touch’ allowing vast numbers of migrants to enter its borders with little or no control.  Through a number of EU directives and legislation many British citizens feel that the un-elected EU Commissioners have taken their powers too far in that they now dictate to the UK what it must and must not do and how, at the expense of the taxpayer, must continuously look after those who do not attribute anything economically beneficial to the UK.

Recently Angela Merkel, Jacque Hollander and David Cameron have all admitted that they got it wrong on immigration however none have been able to offer a solution to the every growing problem.

The humanitarian argument will always be that we should offer those less fortunate an opportunity to create a life that affords them and their families a more financially secure and safer life.

The opposition on the other hand argues that the UK and other EU member states can only take so much before they begin to lose their national identity and that the economic strain of caring for these people will eventually place them in the exact same position as the countries in which these economic refugees have fled.

There is simply no doubt that Europe, and not just the UK is facing the reality of being overburdened and that society is becoming more segregated and intolerant as a result.

There is also no denying that being part of the European Union has its benefits but are the costs of these benefits pushing individual European member states to the brink of collapse?  Many, the silence majority, feel this is the case.

I have often written articles that implore people to speak out and yet in recent years, leading up to present day, that very fundamental right has been challenged and suppressed through the ever increasing legislation of racial discrimination.

Carefully examine the Tory Party agenda in the last local elections.  So fearful where they of a humiliating defeat that they resorted to placing Ken Clark on the press podium and announcing that the UKIP were all ‘fruit cakes’ and ‘closet racists’.  This attempt to label anyone voting UKIP and their policies of allowing a UK in/out referendum on Europe as racists spectacularly back-fired and even fueled the humiliating defeat that the Tories did suffer in the local elections.

Right now any UK citizen has the right to live and work in any EU member state but if a referendum decides to pull out of the EU that right would be withdrawn.  There are many British citizens that live and work in other EU member states; many have made France for example their choice of retirement.

We live in a democratic society; although many people would argue that the un-elected EU Commissioners have quelled any such notion.  What the EU has essentially tried to establish is a one-state Utopia and yet this has not worked.  The reasons are wide and varied however much of it comes down to cultural differences and economical advantages; no for the citizens but for the immigrants.

One thing is clear and that is we as a nation needs to stop being silence.  If some politician wants to label me a racist for the idea of closing our border or heavily restricting access then that is fine with me.  This has nothing to do with discriminating against another race it is simply about whether we can all live together and whether everyone is prepared to co-exist.

Unfortunately there is already clear evidence that multiculturalism in Britain is not working and the Government has openly admitted this.  The sensible and only option must therefore be to stop the tide of immigrants and if the EU doesn’t like it then provide the British people with a referendum and allow them, democratically, to decide the fate of EU involvement with Britain.

This is of course your opportunity to express how you feel about the Right of Free Movement and the EU’s dominance over each of the EU member states.

BILL GATES ONCE AGAIN THE RICHEST MAN IN THE WORLD – The last time Bill Gates was crowned the Richest Man in the World was back in 2007.  Since that time a number of other billionaires have taken the crown including Carlos Slim the Mexican telecoms tycoon.

Bloomberg’s Rich List, which put Bill Gates back at the top spot with a person fortune of $72.7 billion was in part helped by the Mexican Government who ordered Carlos Slim to break up his near monopoly which effectively wiped out an estimated $3 billion of his personal wealth and relegating him to second place in the world rich list.

In third place comes Warren Buffet with a personal fortune of $59.7 billion and finally in fourth place is Europe’s richest person, Ortega Gaona, who owns the fashion chain Zara Amancio, with $56 billion.

Bill Gates who founded Microsoft in 1976 has always been at the forefront of computer innovation but after retiring as CEO in 2008 now spends his time investing in other companies and concentrating on his charitable foundation that he set up with his wife Melinda Gates.

Today the vast majority of Bill’s fortunate is kept within Cascade Investment LL which acts as a holding company for dozens of investments in publicly traded companies including the hotel chain Four Seasons.

Bill Gates is very much into his philanthropy and through the charitable foundation set up with his wife the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation is responsible for donating hundreds of millions of dollars in aid for underprivileged countries.

In the last 5 years the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation has been spearheading a number of African Aids projects in order to stem the spread of the disease.  Last year the foundation pledged $750 million in order to fight Aids, Tuberculosis, and Malaria in poor countries in order to celebrate the 10^th anniversary of the foundation.

While there are many people, for varying reasons, willing to admonish Bill Gates for his vast personal fortune he is however a true humanitarian and pledged most of his fortune to charitable causes.

Bill Gates has also been directly responsible in getting other to pledge their wealth in order to assist humanity and the list of the wealth who have now agreed to pledge their wealth continues to grow and includes people such as Warren Buffet, Sir Richard Branson and Mark Zuckerberg; just to name a few.

Regardless of how you feel about wealthy people it is a fact of life that some of us are far more successful in generating vast wealth than others.  It is too easy for many people to simply think that a wealth is so easily obtained but running a business, any business, is extremely hard work. Yes it could be said that once you have accumulated great wealth more is easier to obtain through the belief that ‘money makes money’ and yet without careful management and shrewd investing money can be lost far more easily than it took to make it.

It is also, in my opinion, nice to know that Bill Gates, and many other billionaires, are prepared to use their wealth for the betterment of mankind and there is no denying that the money they use is their own and I often wish that Government was able to use its Foreign Aid budget as effectively as Bill Gates uses his – the world would surely be a better place.

UNBELIEVABLE INTOLERANCE GAY PEOPLE FACT FROM HOMOPHOBIC PEOPLE – It’s 2013 and for most homophobic people it might as well be the dark ages. In conjunction with their level of intellectual thinking on the subject of gay and transgender people we might as well bring back burning people at the stake for witchcraft.

You would honestly think, looking back at the atrocities and genocide undertaken by man, that we would have learned to accept one another’s differences.  Note that I used the word ‘accept’ and not ‘tolerate’ because tolerance merely suggests that we put up with something we do not like and quite frankly in this day and age whether you approve of gay or transgender people should be irrelevant.

The biggest issue of homophobia is the fact these people feel that what a gay or transgender person does is against God’s will.  Now it doesn’t really matter which religion you chose, Christianity, Islam or a plethora of others, all have one thing in common – they will openly attack gay and transgender people solely based on their sexual preference.

I am sure most of you are fully aware to the debate on Gay Marriage and how the Catholic Church is making a stand in order to prevent single sex marriages in any Church.  This for me is a contradiction itself; especially when it is no secret that the Catholic Church is rife with closet homosexuals who often prey on young boys to quench their sexual desires and no matter how much the Catholic Church tries to cover up the cases of abuse it is now widely seen as nothing more than an organization that feeds off the weak and uneducated.

The Islamic fanatics are even more moronic and indeed resort to medieval barbarism by stoning gay people in Muslim countries.  Given the way of any Islamic Cleric in the UK they would impose full Sharia Law on all of the United Kingdom and happily allow Muslims to go around stoning and murdering, not just gay people but anyone who refuses to follow the teachings of the Koran.

It’s a sickafantic society in which we live which in turn is ruled by some of the most mentally imbalanced, homophobic, intolerant, bigoted and racist people and organisations anyone could possibly imagine.

According to a news report I read today an EU study has revealed that more than a quarter of gay people in Europe have suffered attacks and hate-filled abuse in just the last five years.

I have to admit I think gay people are probably the most intelligent, rational and tolerant people you could ever meet.  When was the last time you witnessed a gay rally?  I can tell you that while they are trying to put their point across to those who are bigoted and homophobic not once will you hear gays admonishing heterosexuals, nor will you seen any scenes of violence or hatred.  In fact look closely in the crowds of a Gay March and you will see many heterosexuals in the crowds supporting the gay community and not once will you see any division or segregation within the march.  It really is a beautiful thing to witness and a true demonstration of humanity.

In direct contrast look at any religious protest and it is filled with messages of hate, death, bigotry, violence and all in the name of some so-called superior being that allegedly promotes the passage of peace and loves thy neighbor to the betterment of mankind.

To be honest being someone who doesn’t believe in a higher power allows me to view people without being too judgmental.  I have lots of friends who are gay and transgender and I have to say they are some of the nicest, loving, giving and peaceful people I know.

You would honestly think in this day and age we would have developed to a point where being gay or religious should not be seen as offensive and yet gays are promoted as evil by religion and atheists believe that the very core of evil is religion itself.

Unfortunately I can’t see the human race developing a level of intelligence that would allow us to move beyond bigotry any time soon and no doubt the gay community will continue to face abuse from the religious fanatics who purport peace as their way to create a more harmonized society – providing of course you are not gay.

THAILAND A NATION OF IRRATIONAL RACISTS – No doubt for many Thailand would be perceived as a gentle Buddhist nation and indeed their own Government’s slogan for the country is the ‘Land of Smiles’.

Unfortunately the smiles most foreigners experience is when money, through one scam or another, is being extracted.  Thais, for the most part, are extremely poor with most living on less than £200 a month; but don’t let their poverty fool you into thinking that Thailand is a poor country.

Far from being poor Thailand is actually very rich and has a healthy Gross Domestic Product (GDP) growth rate annually of over 5 per cent.  The issue to the people’s poverty lies within the level of corruption, the lack of real education and the manipulative controls from the ruling classes.

The fact is that a Thais standing in the community is strictly governed by the wealth they have;  the more money you have the more important the more corrupt you can be without interference.

It is now estimated that 50% to 60% of all Government contracts is filtered to the rich and powerful through various means of graft; leaving the poor to suffer the consequences with third rate infrastructure, services and education.

The title of this article may have you scratching your heads and wondering why I labeled Thailand as a nation of ‘irrational racists’.  I used the word irrational because there simply is no reasons for them to be racists other that the indoctrination of nationalistic self-worth.  This irrational behaviour is of course directly related to the national curriculum whereby students at 8am each morning are forced to stand and sing the National Anthem before entering the classrooms where they are continuously fed propaganda of how Thailand is invincible and that Thailand is the greatest and most successful nation on earth.

There is of course nothing wrong with being patriotic but this is taken to such an extreme that Thai kids are actually taught to despise anyone who is not Thai.

How bad is the education system?  Thailand is a country that implements a ‘No Fail’ policy for its schools and universities.  There was talk a few years ago about abolishing this in order to get students to work harder and learn more.  Unfortunately with the poor to non-existent levels of professionalism among Thai teachers this idea was quickly scrapped.

Thai children each day are faced with teachers who dress in Military style uniforms and command the utmost respect.  Now you might be thinking that instilling respect in the young is a good idea; and it is to a certain point, however what transpires here is that Thai teachers force their will and little knowledge on the students to a point that students are not permitted to question what a teacher offers in the way of an education.

This system leaves children ill-equipped to deal with the real world or even acknowledge that other countries exist.

Years ago a friend of mine opened a small business in Thailand – it was his first and last; which I’ll get to later.  Upon starting the business he employed a very nice young lady with a 1^st Class Honours Degree in French. Impressed by her credentials of mastering another language he asked her about her studies.  The conversation quickly revealed that her Degree was worthless as she acknowledged she was only able to say ‘hello’ and ‘how are you’ in French and she certainly wasn’t able to either read or write French.

Now that you have a glimpse of the education system which does not allow students to think for themselves it is easier to understand how their racism is irrational.

Let’s examine how racist Thais are and how irrational their level of racism is.  Due to the lack of education the average Thai really doesn’t have much of a clue what goes on outside of Thailand. If you presented a blank World Map it is unlikely any students would be able to pin-point the U.S or Europe – in fact I would challenge they would be able to locate their own country.

Their racism comes mainly from the propaganda in the National Anthem where it details how Thais are the superior nation and that only Thais are able to own Thailand.  Foreigners are, for most Thais, the devil reincarnate.  Our white skin automatically suggests we are all fabulously wealthy.  This stems from the class divide within Thailand. The wealthy elite are light skinned while the poorer working classes are very dark skinned.  Their perception is that wealthy people can afford to stay at home and not go out in the sun and therefore anyone with light or white skin must be wealthy beyond imagination.

Foreigners in Thailand are referred to as ‘Farang’. It is irrelevant where a foreigner comes from they are all pretty much labeled the same.  Again their ignorance through the lack of education fuels their irrational thoughts in that all Farang are evil and simply want to come to Thailand to buy up all the land and take over; which is of course a ludicrous notion to anyone with an education.

Racism in Thailand is open and rife; even the Government support it.  This can been seen in any National Park with clear signage that Thais are to pay less than a Farnag and often the price a tourist pays is 10 times that of a Thai nation.  If you ask any Government Park Official why this is the case they will tell you it’s because you are a Farang, you have big money and so you must pay more than a Thai.

“It doesn’t matter if a few tourists are scammed by Thais because Farang (the term is used for any foreigner as Thais simply do not have the intelligence to differentiate between different nationalities) have ‘Big Money’ and can afford it.”

According to a recent Worldwide Poll on Racism, Thailand came second to China where they openly discriminate foreigners living in Thailand and they certainly do not want a change in the law that would allow a foreigner to own land or own a business outright.

Thais tolerate foreigners simply because of Tourism which generates several billions of dollars in revenue each year. Tourism in Thailand over the last decade has been declining due to the ever increase violence leveled towards tourist; which a number being murdered each year.

On top of this there are the scams which are always supported by the police – the tourist always faces a no-win situation when confronted by a group of Thai thugs and police that are on the take.

While foreign Ambassadors have often asked the Government to put an end to these scams nothing ever really gets done.  Their attitude is simple; Farangs have big money and can afford to be scammed.  These exact words have been mirrored by a number of high ranking Thai Officials and the consensus is clear; they don’t want foreigners in their country but they will suffer them due to the money that can be made from them.

This leads me nicely to the situation of my friend who brought a business in Thailand over 10 years ago.  He explained how difficult it was in the fact that he was often racially abused by being over-charged on everything from the electricity supply to taxation.  Taxation was one of the largest expenses and each 6 month period the accountant would show up with reams of paper for him to sign.  He often questioned all the different types of taxes which the account would always reply; “This is Farang tax, Farang have to pay more.”
