FOR LUCA CAMPAIGN GETS MORE PUBLIC ATTENTION – Luca Williams contracted meningitis at the age of three which resulted in spending two weeks in intensive care; unfortunately surgeons had to remove both of Luca’s legs in order to save his life.
Despite all his problems, reports continue to flood in that Luca is one happy little chap but would desperately love to have new legs.
In order to help Luca his parents set about a campaign in order to raise £1.5 million for his prosthetic legs and to really boost public awareness they started to get people to write ‘For Luca’ on the palms of their hands in a gesture of support and post the picture on their social networks.
It is a superb idea and it’s been so successful that many celebrities have picked up on the idea and joined. The famous faces including Olly Murs, Holly Valance, Sebastian Vettel, Stuart Broad, Maradonna, Gareth Bale and even Mickey Mouse.
Gareth Bales recently joined in to help spread the word after becoming the world’s most expensive footballer after being sold to Real Madrid for an eye-watering £86 million.
So far campaigners have managed to raise just under £225,000 or 14 percent of the funds required but considering the notoriety Luca is getting it hopefully won’t be that long before the entire £1.5 million.
Luca’s parents, Mo Syed and Sian Williams, stated they were thrilled at the response of the campaign and so grateful that so many celebrities have take up the cause; which really does give the campaign huge momentum.
If you would like to help Luca there are two things you can do…
1. Write ‘For Luca’ on the palm of your hand. Take a photograph and then post it on all your social media accounts explaining what you are doing.
2. You can also donate directly to Luca’s fund raiser at – justgiving-forluca
I am sure you will agree that this super little lad deserves our support and I for one am certain that it won’t be that long before Luca will have raised the £1.5 million needed for his new prosthetic legs.
