FRENCH FAR RIGHT GAINING IN THE POLLS DUE TO RISING ROMA CRIME – Approximately 16 million foreign tourist’s visit Paris each year in order to behold the beauty of France’s national treasures; including the Eifel Tower, Notre Dame and the Louvre; but mention but a few of the incredible places in Paris.
Paris, the city of romance and where couples can stroll along the cobbled stones; sit outside cafes and sip wine or coffee; well may be 10 years ago but today the landscape of Paris has been blighted by the rampant rise in crime due to the influx of Roma Gypsies.
In a recent poll the French National Party, run by Marie Le Pen, witnessed a 21 per cent rise in public support. Even moderate and liberal politicians are beginning to change their attitudes toward the Roma.
Last month, as just one example alone, one Member of Parliament, Gilles Bourdoulex made the front pages of many European newspapers after a visit to an illegal Roma camp on the outskirts of Paris where in front of a stream of journalists he declared; “Perhaps Adolf Hitler did not kill enough Roma gypsies during the Holocaust.”
It was for all intents and purposes a vile thing to say and yet as any society is pushed to the brink its people will rise up and his comment is only a reflection of what the people of France are thinking.
As a society we understand and certainly sympathise with the Roma plight. They after all come from a poor country; but their circumstance was not of our making. Both Romania and Bulgaria are highly corrupt and despite help from the European member states neither country has made headway in turning their fortunes around.
Instead of Romanians and Bulgarians working together in their own country many feel it is simply easier to travel west and send their children on crime sprees. Because of their young age they are untouchable by law; the Roma’s controlling these children are all too aware of this fact and therefore continue to exploit them.
The rise in crime is taking its toll on tourism as foreigners will always avoid places with high levels of crime and little authority control.
There is little doubt that Roma crime is not only out of control but Roma gangs are become more audacious in the crimes they undertake. Last month a bus packed full of Chinese tourists stopped at traffic lights on its way to Charles de Gaulle airport. As the bus stopped a Roma gang forced their way onto the bus and terrorized the tourists in to giving up thousands of Euros.
Recently we reported on the rising level of Roma children engaged in pick pocketing in the Louvre which has escalated to such proportions that authorities are forced to put on extra security and even considering barring Roma people from entering the Louvre.
Looking carefully at the political landscape of France and it is unquestionable that the rise of the racist right is gaining ground and many feel that it won’t be long before the French National Party take the lead in the polls.
The French people, it would appear, have had enough and there have been a number of violent attacks by national extremists against the Roma; even to the point of petrol bombing Roma camps.
It is of course folly to label all Roma’s as criminals for they are not. There are thousands living in France that work and pay taxes. They left Romania and Bulgaria to find a better life and to integrate with their hosts.
The issue is the law; most importantly those laws imposed upon France, Britain and other EU member states by non-elected EU Commissioners.
It is now widely accepted that the situation will get worse come 2014 when the Right of Free Movement takes effect. Of course the Liberal Left feels that in order to create a European Utopia then borders must not exist.
I’ve read a number of articles on this subject and the reader comments are taking on increasing support for the right-wing sentiment. Many feel that the right-wing view is merely being set up by the left-wing groups as a scapegoat for the farce that immigration has become.
History has taught us that no matter how you attempt to ‘socially engineer’ a nation with multiculturalism its indigenous population will take offense if migrants fail to integrate and adapt to their way of life and their system of social justice.
No one wants the threat of being taken over by another race; as so often it is now being felt by citizens of European nations where Romanians, Bulgarians and Muslims appear to be maneuvering and poised to convert their hosts.
It would appear that anyone attempting to stand up for justice is now viewed as a right-wing thug and yet it is the left-wing indoctrination and ideology of creating a multicultural cohesive society that is dividing us even further.
Regardless to your views we must allow people to voice their opinions in an open and honest way if we are ever going to find a solution and the solution should only come from those who are democracy elected by the people and not through the European Parliament whose control given through mere appointment.
Unless politicians are willing to take on-board the majority voice and act upon the wishes of their citizens then this situation will not only get worse it will continue to escalate in violent clashes until it culminates into civil war.
We need step back and carefully examine the history of Europe and understand that no nation or people have the right to impose themselves upon others. We must above all respect the traditions and laws of a host nation if we wish to reside in that nation.
The underlying problem with migrants is that they appear to have little respect for their hosts and this can only further growing resentment.
Do you think the Right of Free Movement should be scrapped? Do you think greater immigration controls should be implemented? Please leave your comments below.
