GOVERNMENT FORCING ELDERLY TO SELL THEIR HOMES TO PAY FOR CARE – It’s nothing short of a travesty of justice, an immortal act of epidemic proportion and in a so-called caring and humanitarian society outright abuse of the old, frail and infirm.
Councils are now being allowed to investigate (spy if you like) on the elderly to determine whether or not they handed over their hard earned property to their children in order to avoid care home fees.
That’s right, in our so-called, caring society the Government and Local Councils continue to target the most vulnerable member of our society.
It appears fine that HM Revenue and Customs are so incompetent that they are unable to collect £35 billion in unpaid taxes.
It appears irrelevant that the Government is unable to close tax avoidance loopholes that allow corporations to avoid paying their fair share of tax on their vast profits.
And it even appears acceptable that MPs and Ministers received an outrageous £10,000 pay rise despite the economy being in serious trouble due to their vast incompetence.
Why is this all acceptable… because there’s us – that’s right whenever the Government or Local Councils need extra cash they will continue to target those most vulnerable, the working families and pensioners.
A couple of days ago we stuffer the moronic comments from Alan Milburn, the Labour Health Secretary, who believes that your mum, dad or grandparents should be subjected to welfare cuts so the Government can save a few quid by not handing out heating bill subsidies; along with a few other measures he’d like to impose.
On top of that we had the other fool the Health Secretary Jeremy Hunt who feels that we should adopt the Asian culture in caring for our elderly – a person lauding the benefits and moral integrity of a caring society of Mr. Hunt’s stature is more than a little offensive; especially when you consider his actions during the Mid-Staffordshire hospital crisis where over 1,200 patients lost their lives – he was ultimately responsible for allowing Sir David Nicholson, the man directly responsible, to keep his job.
I wonder how many parents and grandparents of Ministers and MPs have been subjected to having their homes forcibly sold from under them in order to pay for their care home fees, in say the last 5 years.
I doubt very much if Ministers or MPs could in fact record a single case but that’s because they are all very well paid and have all the right connections.
Yes we do have to consider that Britain is flat broke and in part we are all responsible – welfare quite honestly is going to bankrupt this country and yet if it wasn’t so badly abused, if our Government had the competency to control welfare to a reasonable level, then we wouldn’t be in this mess and the Government wouldn’t be continuously be targeting the taxpayer or the elderly who have been astute enough to accrue an asset through decades of hard work.
It has now been revealed that our cash-strapped local authorities have employed ‘inspectors’ whose job it is to rifling through residents’ financial records to see if they can determine whether a pensioner deliberately tried to conceal their property wealth by handing it over to their children in order to avoid it being sold from under them in order to pay the rising care home fees.
What happens if they do find something suspicious? This is Government we are talking about and therefore they can use a number of hidden powers to force the family into selling the property and then pay over the proceeds to the local authorities – to cover the care home fees.
Yes, we call this legalised theft for that’s exactly what it is. Of course it’s perfectly acceptable for the hordes of illegal migrants to live the life of luxury on the back of the taxpayer because refusing such a thing would be seen and inhumane, racist or bigoted.
It’s also perfectly acceptable to lock up a prisoner in what is little more than a 5 star hotel, for providing anything less is a breach of the Human Rights.
And people often wonder why I, and millions of others, feel that our society is little more than a Mad Hatters tea party where the immoral fools, we call Ministers and MPs, are at the head of the table.
Is this really the society we have become; where wealthy corporations are able to get away with anything, housing criminals in luxury accommodation and taking care of the world’s poor through social welfare and foreign aid?
Yes all this appears perfectly acceptable and yet in the process hundreds of pensioners die every year because they can’t afford to heat their homes, even with a heating allowance.
Whatever happened to humanity in Britain? Whatever happened to decency and the moral fortitude to care for those who are the most vulnerable?
The truth is these attributes have all be lost by successive Governments who simply have no clue how to control spending and will continue to reduce Britain to a debt ridden beggar and in the process get handsomely paid for their incompetence.
