A gang of Thai youths wielding swords slashed and killed a handicapped man in a Bangkok street Sunday. The 36 year old was killed for daring to answer back when the drunks teased him for being a cripple, reports Manager Online.
The latest shocking Thai street violence was caught on CCTV and posted online.
Police called to the scene of the attack early Sunday morning initially failed to break up the vicious attack and needed to fire into the air before restoring order and detaining the gang.
Six men aged between 18 and 22 have been named and arrested.
Meebal.com says …
Frankly we could post content like this 24/7 and still not cover all the violence that occurs in what Thais refer to as the Land of Smiles.
While this time the violence was directed at another Thai, which is still inexcusable in any circumstances, it clearly depicts the true nature of Thais and how quickly they are to resort to violence at the slightest provocation.
The Thai Government continue to issue press releases in order to ensure that tourists don’t abandon Thailand due to the vast amounts of money that tourism brings into the country.
The facts are that with a corrupt and ineffective police force the violence will not be deterred nor will the vast amount of crimes perpetrated on a daily basis. Considering all the facts you would be far better off booking a holiday in Syria than book a holiday in Thailand.
The only way to effectively make change is to hurt the country where it hurts most … in the bank account and the overall view-point, especially from the expat community is that once tourists stop coming the Government may just attempt to fix their society’s problems.
