HUHNE BLAMES PRESS FOR HIS PRISON SENTENCE – It is no secret that I rarely have time for politicians; let’s face it you’d have to go a long way to find one with any moral fortitude and even further to find one that could tell the truth.
Chris Huhne was convicted earlier this year after attempting to pervert the course of justice by trying to pass on his speeding points to his then-wife Vicky Pryce.
Both in the eyes of the law were culpable and both were sentenced for their crimes.
Chris Huhne of course thought he was above the law, due to his standing as a Government Minister but the judge rightly thought otherwise and sentenced him to 8 month in prison.
It could have been said that the crime wasn’t exactly the most heinous to reach a court of law and it might have been suggested that he was simply given a suspended sentence. However, I firmly believe that his sentence was right and just; after all this is a man, as a Government Minister, who should have been setting an example to the rest of us.
Chris Huhne, despite his 8 month sentence, was released after just 8 weeks. His deception and lies cost him his job and now he’s complaining that the only reason he was even sentenced was because of the vendetta the Press had against him.
Oh, Boo Hoo… seriously you’re just breaking my heart. Why can’t Chris Huhne just take it like a man and stop acting like a petulant spoiled child. The truth is, and there is no changing it, that he lied in open court and thought he was smarter than the rest of us.
“Despite your high office you tried to lie your way out of trouble by claiming you were innocent, by repeating that lie again and again during your extensive interviews by the police.” Mr Justice Sweeny
It didn’t take much digging by the press to undercover his lies and they weren’t going to suppress such news. I honestly can’t see what Chris Huhne is complaining about.
Of course the ‘phone hacking’ scandal has been dragged into it and Chris Huhne is blaming that and the press for ending his political career.
The trouble with the likes of Chris Huhne is that his idiot actually thinks he’s better than the rest of us and due to his then-position above the law.
Why would Chris Huhne think for one moment that the British taxpayer would be satisfied in providing him with a substantial salary, platinum plated pension and all the expenses you can shake a stick at, to a liar?
I am afraid that is the medley of most of our politicians today for they honestly believe that is it acceptable to lie and deceive others and in the process take home a big fat pay cheque.
Despite all his whining and moaning he hasn’t done that bad for he’s now on £100,000 a year, for just a few days work a week, with Zilkha Biomass Energy.
The judge, Mr Justice Sweeny, at Chris Huhne’s, trial summed up the events beautifully when he recorded; “Any element of tragedy is entirely your own fault.”
This should be the end of the matter but like most politicians I doubt very much if Chris Huhne will be able to keep his mouth shut or his face out of the press; that he despises so much.
