IBM PREDICTION ON CYBER SECURITY IN 5 YEARS – According to IBM’s predictions we could all have our very own cyber security officer within 5 years in which will help prevent online fraud and identity theft.
IBM reported that over 126 million people in the U.S alone last year was subjected to either an attempt at identity theft or fraud and that a system is being developed in order to curb online criminals from accessing personal details and financial information.
IBM predicts that within just 5 years we could all have our very own ‘digital guardian’ and its job will be to monitor your activities and run them through complex analytical tools to determine if the online activity is with known parameters of your normal activities.
For instance if your digital guardian knows that you are vegetarian and yet your credit card is being used to buy hotdogs it will automatically alert you so that you can prevent further fraud on your credit card.
IBM notes that online security is evolving all the time and that our passwords that grant us access to banking, emails, social networks and other activities could also become a thing of the past in the not too distant future.
IMB has also given a number of other predictions as to how the future will look in just five years time… the videos below provide an insightful look at how things might just evolve.
