Imam Declares Muslims Should be Appalled by the Sale of Halal Meat by Stealth

IMAM DECLARES MUSLIMS SHOULD BE APPALLED BY THE SALE OF HALAL MEAT BY STEALTH – Chills just went right down my spine for not 10 minutes ago we published an article on Islamophobia in which we pointed out that if Muslims really want to co-exist peacefully then they too should make a stand and call out the religious extremists.

In an article by Dr. Taj Hargey, a University lecturer, devout Muslim and an Imam, for the Daily Mail he declared, concerning the rise in Halal meat appearing in our supermarkets, schools and homes;

“This is covert religious extremism and creeping Islamic fundamentalism making its way into Britain by the back door. It is completely wrong that the food sensitivities of Britain’s Muslims — who amount to just 4.8 per cent of the population — should take precedence over the other 95 per cent.”

Read the article in full at the Daily Mail.

In our view Dr. Hargey addressed a number of points adequately, with an openness that all Muslims should adopt and one where he clearly feels that democracy can only ever prevail if we are allowed to speak out and accept the majority consensus and clearly 4.8% of the population is not the majority but rather the minority.

We at meebal.com applaud Dr. Hargey for he clearly has the courage to speak out and yes, he and other Muslims do have the right to live their lives as they see fit as we pointed out in our previous article but that does not given them the right, under religious or cultural ideology, to force this upon others.

In our view, if community cohesion is ever to become a reality, then it’s time more people like Dr. Hargey came forward.  Note that within the article Dr. Hargey stated that if he was invited into anyone’s home for dinner he would gladly accept for he could simply recite a pray over his meal that would then effectively make it halal.

I for one would be more than delighted to have Dr. Hargey over for dinner and would happily allow him to recite his prayer even thought I am not a religious person for this would be out of respect for my guest in the hope of cementing a greater understanding and indeed friendship.

Trust me; the so-called cohesive society is attainable but only once we can put aside our differences and accept that you cannot force an ideology upon another, either through fear, force or in this case stealth.
