IS CLEGG FINALLY SEEING THE ERROR OF HIS WAYS OVER IMMIGRATION? – A politician saying he got it wrong? Surely that would equal to a Harvard Man out rowing a Cambridge scholar at Henley – surely such a travesty has never existed.

It’s true… deal old Cleggy has finally come out and admitted his failings and that he’d got the whole affair of an open immigration policy completely wrong; in respect of offering amnesty to illegal immigrants.

It’s not much, but it’s a step in the right direction and any liberal saying their got it wrong could be seen as real progress – it’s a bit like therapy I guess, you just have to continuously show these people the stark truth and eventually they will wake up from La La Land and see the ugly realization of their actions.

Nick Clegg has decided to ditch the Liberal Democrats policy on allowing illegal immigrants to ‘earn’ British Citizenship, simply by residing in the UK for more than a decade without be caught by the authorities – it’s a bit like robbing a bank and then being told if you can hide the money or spend it quick enough without being caught you can keep it without punishment. Totally bonkers! But that’s the Liberal Democrats for you… unrealistic ideas that benefit no one other than the criminals; please don’t even get me started on ‘community service’.

The idea of course was to bring these illegal immigrants out of the shadows so that they could work openly and pay taxes that would attribute to society. This plan obviously failed as it became apparent that the work many of these illegal immigrants engaged in was not legal – it’s a bit difficult to declare your earning to the taxman for muggings, burglary or other organised crime activities.

Clegg pointed out, in his speech, that this policy, is now undermining the ‘public confidence’ in the immigration system – obviously Clegg still doesn’t realize that public confidence with our immigration system went out of fashion along with Afro Hair Cuts and Bell Bottom Trousers; which just enforces my belief of just how out of touch Clegg is with public sentiment.

The all new, shiny and sparkling plan is to force foreigners, from so-called ‘high-risk’ countries to pay a £1,000 bail bond that will only be repaid if they leave.  Not sure if Clegg knows this but this will probably infringe upon their Human Rights and is likely to fail.  One could also argue that scraping together a grand is pittance to pay for being allowed into a country that will give you free housing, benefits, healthcare and education – a foreigner could easily recoup the cost of entry within a month.

As the famous passage from ‘The best laid plans of mice and men’ indicates these are often made in vain which brings me aptly onto the views of Clegg’s cabinet minister Vince Cable who feels that trying to cut immigration figures is ‘unattainable’ and risks serious damage to the British economy – how that one works is slightly beyond me.  Is Vince Cable suggesting our economy would suffer if we stopped allowing immigrants through our borders to live off the backs of the taxpayer and often than not attribute to growing crime?  Well I guess if there was not crime it would put a few police officers out of work, but damage the economy… how?  Someone please enlighten me because this is a tunnel so long and erroneous that I for one cannot see the light.

It appears that this ‘coming out’ by politicians (not in the change of sexual preference) but rather that of admitting their mistakes and short-sightedness seems to be catching.  It was only last week that the leader of the Labour Party, Ed Miliband stood up and said that the last Labour Government’s policies on immigration were not exactly a good idea – in other words they royally buggered it up, but we already know that.

It appears now that we are going to be subjected to the ‘tougher stance’ and ‘zero tolerance’ speeches in order to attempt to restore public confidence that the clowns are no longer running the circus and the ringmaster has now returned with his bullhorn and whip and proudly announce to the audience that the show must go on.

I, like many others, regardless to the rhetoric that spews forth from the mouths of the inept and incompetent, will remain firmly skeptical until I actually see positive action and not merely hollow words, spoken by hollow people, from behind a lectern.

Nick Clegg still believes that a multi-cultural society with a diverse population, speaking multiple languages with different customs and cultures is a workable scenario and that we can co-exist in harmony providing the rules of immigration are reasonable, just and properly enforced.

I am beginning to suspect Clegg has completely lost the plot, along with Miliband and Cameron if they seriously think the UK is anywhere near the Utopia they are trying to sell, which the crime figures alone, from the immigrant population, brings the idea of a Utopia Britain crashing down in a stark realization that appears to be lost on those in power.

Chicken Little may not yet see the sky falling but without doubt the days of living in the UK are darker and unless this, or an alternative Government, is able to put a stop to this madness Chicken Little’s prediction will soon become a reality that the British people and the UK may never recover from.
