MAIDSTONE PRISON RIOT: PRISONERS RIGHTS – Approximately 200 foreign Category C prisoners went on the rampage forcing prison officers to flee and for riot police to be sent in to quell the uprising.

Whilst it has not yet been established what caused over 200 prisoners to riot there is speculation that this was due to the latest round of Government crackdowns on prisoners having an easy life behind bars.
Recently the Justice Secretary Chris Grayling announced that explicit 18 rated DVDs where movies depicted high levels of violence or sex were to be eradicated from the prison system.
It is thought that the riot might be due to this or in fact a number of other measures currently being introduced.
After years of reports and studies the Government came to the conclusion that our prisons were little more than luxury hotels and it was time to get tough.
The new measures imposed included:
- All prisoners to wear a uniform for the first two weeks behind bars
- New prisoners to be denied access to daytime television and the gym
- Incentives and Earned Privileges Scheme (IEP) to be strengthened so that prisoners have to do more to earn privileges and perks
- X rated and violent movies are no longer permitted to be screened in any prison within England or Wales
“For too long the public has seen prisoners spending their days languishing in their cells watching TV, using illegal mobile phones to taunt their victims on Facebook or boasting about their supposedly easy life in prisons. This is not right and it cannot continue.
The changes we have made to the incentive scheme are not just about taking TVs away from prisoners, they are about making them work towards their rehabilitation.” Justice Secretary Chris Grayling
I have to admit I’m not astonished at Mr. Grayling’s remarks as this only further cements my belief that justice and those supposedly running it have completely and utterly lost all sense of reality.
Early last week we published an article on the rising level of crimes being committed by those reoffending.
It wasn’t that long ago that we also published an article on the failing justice system from the view of a retiring magistrate; in which he felt the system was failing to adequately punish offenders.
Yet again with the public being made aware of this latest prison riot it is clear that Mr. Grayling and the Government are not really tackling the core issue; this being punishment over rehabilitation.
The notion of trying to rehabilitate habitual criminals is admirable but unfortunately folly; especially when you have a system that provides no incentive for rehabilitation.
I think most people today would openly admit that their indoctrination into humanely dealing with criminals was more than a little delusional; in fact if people were honest they would tell you that it was, and indeed is, complete and utter madness.
Yes we don’t want to be seen as cruel or inhumane but we need to realise that criminals, especially the reoffenders, are taking us for a ride – that is they know full well that they are able to commit any crime they like and they’ll either be admonished with a slap on the wrist, with a suspended sentence, a bit of community service or better yet a few weeks rest and recuperation at one of Her Majesty’s luxury resorts.
How on earth we have managed to hold onto the name ‘Prison’ is beyond me. I’m amazed that some politically correct indoctrinated fool hasn’t yet attempted to rename them to something like ‘Critical Rehabilitation Centre for the Victims of a Cruel and Uncaring Society’ or maybe just CRC for short.
Yet again despite our efforts to house criminals in the lap of luxury they are certainly not amused when someone takes away their privileges and therefore take to rioting.
It’s about time we found someone in Government with a spine and ignored David Cameron and the rest of his political correct lackeys.
From our research it appears crystal clear that the public are finally coming around from their intoxication of political correctness and are finally seeing the damage it is doing to society.
The way things are going every home in Britain will become a mini-prison for it simply will not be safe for people to venture out. It’s likely that prisons will be turned into refugee centres; not for foreigners but rather British nationals fleeing the violence on the streets.
Again meebal.com advocates the need for change; we’ve tried rehabilitation and it doesn’t work so let’s try punishment.
No beds, just straw mats
One meal a day
23 Hour Lock Down
1 Hour Exercise
Rioters to face 12 lashes
Minimal Heating in Cells – if we can do it for our pensioners then it should be good enough for prisoners
Death Penalty for murder and rape
First Time Offenders of any crime other than rape or murder – 3 lashes
Second Time Offenders – 12 lashes
Third Time Offenders – 12 lashes and a minimum of 10 years
I know it’s all a little draconian and may even appear barbaric but what choice do we have; I suppose we could continue to mollycoddle criminals and house them in luxury accommodation in the hope that they’ll see the error of their ways.
Of course if prisoners don’t like their accommodation then they can always riot and no doubt some progressive leftie will declare their treatment cruel and inhumane.
