MCLAREN P1 SUPER CAR UNVEILED – There are super cars and then there are the McLaren Super cars and in my opinion so only do they go extremely fast they are also a work of art to behold.
The new McLaren P1 is reported to have a massive 903bhp at its disposal and yet, for all that muscle, it is reported to be greener than your average family salon car. Now that rocks!
Already serious buyers are lining up to purchase this stunning creation, with its superb 3.8 litre twin-turbocharged engine that delivers 727bph. Where does the rest come from? A remarkably engineered electric motor that delivers the extra 176bhp.
If you are one of these people who feel the need, the need for speed, then the McLaren P1 is all you will ever need, with a top speed of 230mph and a 0-60 time in under 3 seconds, this is nothing short of hair-rising.
Want one? Of course you do, but with a price tag in excess of £800,000 this is not exactly the average family car. On that note the average family car, if you are simply looking for something to do the weekly shopping in, could well be left in the shade, regarding fuel consumption. The McLaren P1 is able to drive on just the electric motor alone which makes it extremely green. OK, let’s be realistic here, the range on the electric motor is only 6.2 miles, but this isn’t a family salon car, it is a super car that is meant for racing.
Whatever your views on this stunning creation, it is the result of years of planning and technical wizardry. As we move on the automotive industry, even those producing the average family salon, relies heavily on the developments of the racing industry to come up with new and innovative ways to make our cars better.
Personally I don’t care what anyone thinks, the McLaren is a work of art and true joy to behold and yes… I want one, but there’s no way on earth that I could afford one. Oh to be a mere mortal.
