MORE UK AID MONEY WASTED - What is the problem with UK Government? Have we, as Brits become so soft (stupid more like) that we are going to continue to support countries where the money never really goes where it is supposed to go?
The truth lies any real lack of accountability and of course an ineffectual government. It’s no good just moaning about the Conservatives either, Labour and the Liberal Democrats are certainly no better.
Here’s an extract from the Daily Mail - Full article from the link
It is a nation racked by poverty, where 13 million people survive on less than £1 a day, and two million have no access to a toilet.
Yet as his people struggle in squalor, South African president Jacob Zuma has sparked outrage by spending £17.5 million to upgrade his rural family home.
Lavish works – which include the construction of 31 new houses, an underground bunker accessed by lifts and a helipad – will cost almost as much as the £19 million British taxpayers send to South Africa in annual aid.
And here’s a picture of this week’s lucky Aid Money Lottery Winner.
What I want to know is WHY? Why are we giving millions to other countries in so-called aid when most of it never reaches the people it is supposed to reach?
I recently watched a video on YouTube of David Cameron explaining why we needed to give aid to Pakistan. One poor woman, who was suffering from Cancer – who by the way couldn’t get the treatment she needs due to NHS cutbacks ask “Why give it to them when it is needed here?”
Now that’s a fair question in anyone’s book, unfortunately it was the usual lame answer you would expect from any of our politicians… it went something like this….
“We have to give aid because if we didn’t we would have a problem with so many of them are entering the UK seeking a better life.”
What a lot of rubbish… So what is the Prime Minister saying? Oh, does he mean that our Border Security is so ineffectual that no one can control who comes in?
Or maybe is he saying that the Human Rights Act is so full of holes that we can’t refuse anyone entry? What’s worse of course is that he could be saying that the payments are designed to cut down on the terrorist activities within the UK.
Whatever spin you care to put on it a number of things are abundantly clear:
Our Armed Forces could do with better conditions and pay.
Our Teachers and Education system could do with upgrading.
Our Nurses, Doctors and the Hospitals could do with a bit more cash.
Our Elderly need better looking after.
Our Police need more powers in order to reduce crime.
The list quite frankly goes on and on and what does the UK Government do? Yes it gives £19 million of the British taxpayers money so some despot dictator can live in the lap of luxury while we can’t even afford to look after our elderly, many of whom I might point out served and fought for the UK.
I would like to know who David Cameron thinks he is. Isn’t it about time that the Government stopped taking it upon themselves to dish out this type of cash before they asked those who is paying for it… Yes that’s you the TAXPAYER! What about having referendums on this type of thing? Isn’t that what democracy is supposed to be about – the majority voice? We live in an age of communication and setting up an online voting system wouldn’t be that difficult.
The UK is almost at breaking point. Society can only tolerate so much and the UK has become the soft touch for any country to dip their hands into the taxpayer’s pocket. Isn’t it about time the British people stood up and said in one clear voice; “NO MORE.”?
