NHS Boss Who Silenced Whistleblowers is Given No 2 Job at the NHS

NHS BOSS WHO SILENCED WHISTLEBLOWERS IS GIVEN NO 2 JOB AT NHS – Whilst the public are baying for Sir David Nicolson to resign over his part in the NHS scandal, which directly resulted in the death of over 1,200 patients at Mid-Staffordshire hospital, he has just promoted the woman directly responsible for gagging whistleblowers to the No.2 spot in the NHS, confirming the public’s perception that ‘birds of a feather flock together.’

The woman, Dame Barbara Hakin, herself a GP, has been given the jobs as Deputy Chief Executive of the NHS. During the scandal it was Dame Hakin that is said to have helped ‘authorise’ a payment of £500,000 in order to gag the chief executive of a hospital trust where 670 patients are feared to have died needlessly.

The move is seen by many as a show of utter contempt for the British public and to the families who lost loved ones due to the gross incompetence and conduct by Sir David Nicholson and Dame Barbara Hakin.

What many find disturbing is that Dame Barbara, as a GP, took an oath to care for and preserve life but instead she has chosen a different path in which she is prepared to forego her moral oath in return for position, power and money – can you find a more despicable human being?  I suppose one only needs to look inside the halls of parliament to full realize that those who walk it are not the same as us and certainly lack any moral fortitude.

Sir David Nicholson, the head of the NHS and the man who will not only resign over the Mid-Staffordshire fiasco, where over 1,200 patients needlessly die under his direct control, but is also protected by the Prime Minister; who thinks Sir David is doing a marvelous job.

Currently Dame Barbara is being investigated by the General Medical Council over allegations of silencing a report into the extremely high death rates at the United Lincolnshire Trust Hospital.

It appears all too apparent to the British public that justice is not going to be served.  It seems incredulous that a politician is imprisoned over trying to dodge a few speeding points, the case being Chris Hune, while the willful neglect of patients under the care of Sir David Nicholson and Dame Barbara, resulting in over 1,200 fatalities are not only protected by the Prime Minister, but one, Dame Barbara is promoted for her role in the attempt of covering up, what is nothing short or corporate manslaughter.

This further shows the public just how ‘out of touch’ David Cameron is and his contempt for the British people and the rule of democracy.

“It shows a blatant disregard for public concerns.” Gary Walker, the whistleblower

Gary Walker was the Chief Executive of the United Lincolnshire Hospital until 2010 due to approaching Dame Barbara and warning of her that the government performance targets were being put ahead of patient care with devastating consequences.  Gary Walk was relieved of his job and paid £500,000 in severance pay, something he feels was nothing more than an attempt to keep him quiet – it didn’t work.

Gary Walker also reported that in 2009 he warned Sir David Nicholson over the state of the hospital and how lives were being put at risk due to unworkable targets and government policies.

Next week Gary Walker is to give evidence to the Health Committee which clearly shows both Sir David and Dame Barbara were both directly involved in an attempt to cover up the scandal and pay off to keep silent.  This will no doubt pile more pressure on Sir David Nicholson to resign.

There is no doubt, with the evidence piling up, not only should Sir David and Dame Barbara resign, but a criminal investigation for neglect, resulting in the deaths of all the patients, should be initiated.

It is certainly time for David Cameron to curtail his open contempt for the British public and remove all those involved in this scandal, however as with anything governmental, the ‘Old Boys Network’ will rally around their chums and suppress any information possible so as to try and blind-side the British public.

Honour, decency, and moral fortitude… not in David Cameron’s government will you find any such admirable traits.
