NHS STAFF FACE CRIMINAL NEGLECT CHARGES OVER MID STAFFORDSHIRE SCANDAL – Police are now investigating 300 cases of criminal neglect which resulted in the deaths of over 1,200 patients at the NHS Mid Staffordshire Hospital; which was under the charge of Sir David Nicholson.
Full Story: Daily Mail
Between 2005 and 2009 some 1,200 patients needlessly died due to neglect at the NHS Mid Staffordshire Trust Hospital.
To date four doctors and sixteen nurses have been under investigation and yet those executives, including Sir David Nicholson, have managed to avoid any such probe and remarkably retain their jobs.
It was the Prime Minister, David Cameron, even after considerable public pressure, refused to sack Sir David Nicholson and even had the tenacity to go on record to say that Sir David was going a great job.
We are all fully aware that David Cameron is particular about those he employs, which mainly consist of old school chums and it has been revealed on a number of occasions that David Cameron is more than happy to award those who fail the public.
The whole coalition Government is based on lies, deceit, corruption and failure and yet despite this David Cameron has managed to hold onto power and continue to employ friends that are simply incapable of serving the public to any acceptable standard.
During the last few months the police have been scouring the records of Mid Staffordshire and have already uncovered blatant and disturbing cases of neglect; causing failure of patient care and in many cases unnecessary suffering.
It was announced last month that Sir David Nicholson was to finally step down as the NHS Chief Executive; much to the delight of the public. The question now is how will the police deal with Sir David and will finally brought to book over his role in atrocities that directly involved the loss of life?
It’s all too easy to target the doctors and nurses; most of whom have to work under appalling conditions due to the failings of executive staff and yet it appears on the surface that a number of doctors and nurses are going to be used as scapegoats in order to take the limelight off those who are truly responsible.
So let’s be honest, let’s have the round up of who should be standing in the dock and facing the criminal charge of corporate manslaughter.
The first culprit has to be Sir David Nicholson. He was after all directly responsible for running the Mid Staffordshire and his incompetence ultimately resulted in the deaths of 1,200 patients.
The second person to face charges is the Health Secretary Jeremy Hunt. Like most politicians he continuously tried to deny or hide the failing of Sir David Nicholson and therefore should be charged as an accessory to the crime.
Finally there’s our illustrious Prime Minister, David Cameron, who is so clueless and inept at running Government I doubt he would be able to buy a loaf of bread unsupervised. David Cameron had the power to prevent further damage by Sir David Nicholson and yet took it upon himself to ignore the democratic view of the people and refuse to sack Sir David.
Justice for the victims of Mid Staffordshire is long overdue and if you want proper justice then haul Nicholson, Hunt and Cameron in front of a jury and if found guilty; to which there is little doubt, each should be sentenced to a minimum of 15 years per patient that died.
While many may be thinking that headway is being made in the investigation I doubt very much if those truly responsible will ever face a judge or jury.
