NICK CLEGG SHAMED OVER SEXUAL HARASSMENT COVER UP – Nick Clegg was humiliated yesterday after admitting he failed to respond appropriately to a number of sexual harassment claims his staff made, on numerous occasions, concerning his friend Lord Rennard.

Did Nick Clegg cover up or simply not take appropriate action over the allegations that Lord Rennard, the party’s former chief executive, was sexually harassing female staff?
While there are those who believe that Nick Clegg wasn’t actually attempting to cover up the allegations, it remains a fact that he did nothing to investigate them and either way his inability to investigate the claims lead to Lord Rennard being allowed to carry out his sordid activities.
It is nothing new to discover that once again another one of our politicians has been caught engaging in clandestine activities, or lacking the moral will to take action, in order to hide embarrassment of their own failings or the deeds of others.
The inquiry report was extremely critical as to Nick Clegg’s attitude to women within the party but I’m not entirely convinced there isn’t more to it. What I see is a disturbing lack of moral fortitude and disdain for the public. It increasingly appears that politicians view their activities, regardless of how degrading they may be, as irreproachable and I wonder when our politicians will ever learn that holding such a high office should be carried out with integrity, decency and moral courage.
Yes I guess, considering those in power, that this ideology is somewhat naive; but not unreasonable to expect.
Of course now Nick Clegg is trying to come across as the nice guy by admitting that he ‘seriously let down women’ by not taking action and following through with the allegations of abuse.
Why do our politicians always come clean after they’ve been caught out? Are they simply incapable of taking positive action or is it that they simply want to protect their chums from any public embarrassment and therefore continuously turn a blind eye at the expense of other people’s suffering.
If Nick ‘Clandestine’ Clegg is truly remorseful and is able to comprehend that his actions were reprehensible then surely he should quickly locate his spine and resign. It is, and would be, the only decent thing to do.
As one insider aptly put it… ‘You can make a mistake and learn from it, but it’s different when you deliberately cover up, mislead others or fail to take action.’ which is clearly the case here.
Nick Clegg has also publicly stated that what he did was wrong and that there was no excuse for his behaviour and on that admission alone it should warrant the Liberal Party and the Prime Minister on insisting he steps down.
It is of course folly to think that anyone as immoral as Nick Clegg would actually do the moral thing by resigning and it is unlikely, considering those who are in power, that more of this type of behaviour will not come to light in the near future.
Look carefully at those in the halls of Parliament and you will quickly realise that those supposedly running the country are made up of deviants, liars and thieves and frankly you would have more chance in finding a decent human being in some of our worst prisons than you would in Parliament.
