NO HOPE FOR BRITAIN WITHIN THE EUROPEAN UNION – An old friend of mine emailed me this morning regarding the article I wrote yesterday which showed how MEPs were claiming €300 a day of the taxpayer’s money for doing absolutely nothing.
The question he asked was; “Where is the democracy we are supposed to live under?”
It’s a good question; in fact it’s a very good question. When you look closely as the structure of the European Union it is plain to see that no democracy exists. MEPs are appointed by member state governments without any due process of an election.
Yesterday we clearly saw how these non-elected officials are able to openly steal from the taxpayer which enforces my belief that democracy is simply the right to vote in the next dictator.
Yes I know you don’t want to hear it and you may even well shut your mind off to the fact that Britain has an elected dictatorship. Yes, that very statement is contradictory but look closely at how the British Government operates and you will see this is a clear case of an elected dictatorship.
In a system of pure democracy people have the right to be heard and more importantly their views implemented. The ideology pertains that if sufficient people want change (the majority) then under a democratic system the Government is obliged to effect that change.
Let’s cast our minds back to the debacle of Sir David Nicholson in which he was directly responsible for the deaths of over 1,200 patients at Mid-Staffordshire hospital.
There was, understandably, huge public outcry. The public along with a number of organisations vigorously called upon Sir David to step down. After refusing to do so the public then appealed to the Prime Minister, David Cameron, who not only refused the request but also supported Sir David’s tenure.
The question is why didn’t David Cameron act upon the wishes of the British public? The truth is that Cameron, like any other elected politician doesn’t feel it is a necessity to listen to the voters and therefore the ideology of democracy is openly ignored for an individual’s point of view; in this case the singular view of David Cameron.
Is it any real surprise that the European Union is run in a similar fashion? David Cameron earlier this year vowed that the amount of taxpayer’s money that would be handed over to the EU this year would be reduced. Unfortunately the EU, with its legislative powers, simply decided that not only would the UK’s financial involvement not be reduced it would in fact be increased by a further £700 million.
The message here is that the EU and its non-elected commissioners are able to do whatever they please and openly steal from the taxpayer without any fear of prosecution; which was made clear by yesterday’s article.
We often hear about an EU referendum, but I have serious doubts as to whether such a referendum will ever be allowed to take place.
Of course a referendum is the purest form of democracy and in this age of digital interaction through the internet there is no reason why all important issues cannot be put to the people through a democratic ‘electronic’ referendum system.
The biggest issue the UK faces is its people. The British, once a proud and highly political nation, has been reduced to a multicultural hotpot of inept and feckless people.
I am, and have been for some time, ashamed at being British as I never envisioned that the British people would lie down and allowed to be walked over so easily. Whatever happened to the British bulldog fighting spirit and the staunch belief in democracy?
It was earlier this week that I wrote an article on how the British public appears more interested in celebrity gossip than they are in their own politics. Maybe this is a form of escape; a way to drown out the noise of the despicable acts our politicians and non-elected MEPs are engaged in.
The real issue here is that the British people need to find their fighting spirit again for as we look deeper into the abyss, and the loss of democracy, we are falling closer to a pure state of a totalitarianism style dictatorship which will be orchestrated from the EU and finally the death toll will sound on the British national identity.
This is NOT about anarchy; it is about reinstating our right to a democratic system. We must, at all costs, ensure that our politicians are not permitted to sell our souls to an unequivocal dictatorship we know as the EU.
Do you think we have any real democracy in the UK? Do you think we should pull out of the EU? Please leave your comments below.
