PATIENT AND CARE GROUP CALL FOR THE PRIME MINISTER TO SACK SIR DAVID NICHOLSON – It has been announced by the Patient and Care Group that they will deliver a scathing letter today at No.10 Downing Street, calling upon David Cameron to sack Sir David Nicholson over his role in the Mid-Staffordshire NHS Hospital that resulted in the Death of over 1,200 patients.
Sir David Nicholson, as the head of the NHS, has publicly stated that he has no shame of over the mismanagement and therefore the lives of the 1,200 victims.
David Cameron has also gone on record to say that he will not sack Sir David, as he is doing a ‘sterling job’ of managing the NHS.
If the Prime Minister honestly expects the public to swallow this then he is living on an entirely different planet than rest of us and ether needs serious medication or to come off what his is currently taking. Maybe it would be a good idea, the next time he falls ill; to spend time in an NHS Hospital and not a private medical facility; just so he can experience the misery the average citizen faces in an NHS Hospital.
The Patient and Care Group have clearly outlined in their letter to the Prime Minister that he is engaging in ‘double standards’ as he has said that staff and management as the Mid-Staffordshire will be prosecuted for their failings and yet the head of the NHS, who was also involved directly in the Mid-Staffordshire crisis. This, the group point out in the letter, is deeply shameful, that the Prime Minister is protecting Sir David, not only from dismissal but also for his direct role over the deaths of 1,200 patients.
I am sure, for most of us regular folks that is those of us outside the ‘Old Boys Network’ this will come as no surprise. The wagons are moving and circling around one of their own and in the middle right now you have David Cameron protecting Sir David Nicholson and Nick Clegg protecting Lord Rennard.
Are we really surprised or do we now simply accept that this is the way Government and their chums work?
I am almost certain that a number of doctors, nurses and administrative staff will be rolled out like sacrificial lambs to the slaughter over the Mid-Staffordshire affair but it is unlike that any of David Cameron’s friends will ever see their jobs being taken away, let alone see the inside of a court room to publicly explain their actions.
Unfortunately the UK is filling up with criminals and unsurprisingly many of them work in Government.
