PENSIONERS SHOULD BE SUBJECT TO WELFARE CUTS SAYS ALAN MILBURN – According to Alan Milburn, the Labour Health Secretary, all pensioners should now face welfare cuts if Britain is to stave off bankruptcy of its welfare system.

It was less than an hour ago that meebal.com published an article in response to the Health Secretary, Jeremy Hunt’s assertion that we are failing our parents and grandparents by abandoning them to state care – yes, Mr. Hunt had the audacity to blame the people for not caring for our elderly and that we should adopt the culture of Asians who provide far more care for their parents and grandparents.
Mr. Hunt’s views were of course highly offensive but were almost certainly based on the views of Mr. Milburn.
Now according to Mr. Milburn, the state is in trouble; well at least our welfare state and anyone with a modicum of sense would surely agree.
However, Mr. Milburn feels that pensioners should have their benefits cut in order to save the Government money. These so-called essential cuts should cover areas such as the removal of the free TV licence and heating allowance; to name just a few areas whereby cuts should be made.
Once again I’m offended and offended to the core. I sincerely believe there is not much wrong with those in Government that a goodly does of cyanide wouldn’t cure and let’s be honest would we really miss any of them? Unlikely.
It is of course highly offensive to any right-minded and moral individual to consider that we should take away something that others have worked so hard for.
Think about this logically… most of today’s pensioners fought in the Second World War and indeed worked all of their lives to pay into the welfare system with the knowledge that when they retired they would be cared for.
Considering this undeniable fact, who or what Government Minister has the right to take away something that doesn’t belong to them?
Here, in the words of the Bard, ‘lies the rub’. The truth is that Britain is broke. Yes, skinny flat broke and in fact it’s in debt – in debt to the tune of £1.4 trillion (yes trillion).
When Blair left office he plunged the country into debt by adding £150 billion to it, Gordon Brown added a further £250 billion and David Cameron, come the 2015 General Election, would have added a further £700 billion.

The point here is that this and the previous Government has never understood that you cannot rob Peter to pay Paul – that is you cannot buy your way out of a recession.
I am, as anyone who reads meebal.com on a regular basis will testify too, against most forms of welfare; not because we shouldn’t care for those who are less well off but because welfare has become an ‘entitlement’ of the lazy scroungers who simply want a free ride through life on the back of the hard working taxpayer.
Welfare is an admirable system but only if it is not abused. There is not a day goes by that we don’t hear about families with 12 children or more who don’t work, we hear about benefit fraud on a massive scale and we continuously hear about welfare reform.
At £1.4 trillion in debt, that’s approximately 508% of the national income, you have to wonder why this and previous Government have managed to get us into such a state.
There are three elements to Government, that is tools used in order to control the people and indeed the way they vote – fear, ignorance and despair; and quite frankly the UK has sunk to such depths of all three this and any other Government is simply able to get away with what they like – they simply spin another yarn in order to make you more frightened or despondent and of course keep you ignorant with all the lies.
The Government talks about austerity measures; that is making the taxpayer suffer for their own incompetence and in the process allowing them to rape the Treasury to fuel their own greed and incompetency.
Let’s put this into context… Earlier this year the House of Common’s voted on a pay rise. Yes, those over paid fools wanted more and the taxpayer was powerless to stop the £10,000 pay rise they received.
Wasting public money is a full time occupation for any Government Minister and due to their incompetency they continue to create quangos, committees and all manner of other civil servant jobs. In turn it allows members of the Government to place the blame elsewhere when things do go wrong, but notice how no civil servant ever really loses their job, they are simply shuffled into other high paying posts at the taxpayers’ expense.
Yes, it is quite frankly a vast some of money that this and previous Government waste each year simply protecting their own interests – that is a vastly overpaid job where incompetency is highly rewarded.
If you think my assertion is slightly mad then consider this… At the height of the British Empire when we ruled a quarter of the globe the entire Government was run by just 4,000 civil servants; today that figure stands at 500,000 and we certainly don’t rule a quarter of the globe.
So why is the Government instant upon Welfare Reforms? Mr. Milburn, like any other of the incompetent fools, will do everything in his power to protect his job; regardless of the damage it does to society.
Over the years this and previous Governments have uncontrollably raped and pillaged the Treasury to support their network of friends, families and other world leaders in order to sustain their ill-gotten gains.
We have, and continue to do so, supported despot regimes around the world through vast amounts of foreign aid. We also have the burden of having to bail out and support uncontrollable spending by foreign governments in the EU and indeed propping up the EU itself.
The British taxpayer continues to face ever increasing austerity measures; but note carefully that no MP or Minister has ever suggested that Government itself should be subjected to the same measures – in fact spending has vastly increased and all of which has had no effect on recovering the position of Britain’s increasing mountain of debt.
Yes, the Chancellor, George Osborne might well stand there and declare that income is increasing and that the economy is recovering but this is solely based on the fact that the interest rates remain at an all-time low.
History tells us that interest rates rise and fall and when they hit rock bottom, as they are now, there is only one place they can go – up.
Once this occurs, and it will, the British mountain of debt will become uncontrollable and we will not be able to afford the interest payments on it.
If you think Greece is having a hard time of it then you might like to consider that when their economy went into meltdown they had a national debt of just 267%. Compare this to Britain’s current position of 508% and it is easy to see that even the slightest upward movement in the interest rates will plunge Britain into an economic meltdown whereby we may never recover.
Again it is fine for Government Ministers and MPs to talk of austerity, welfare reform and other cost cutting measures but none of this affects them, their families or despot friends.
Finally consider what type of person it would take to suggest removing heating allowance for our pensioners in the depths of winter that would spell certain death for many as they freeze to death… yes, that’s just how low people like Alan Milburn will go in order to protect their own jobs.
