POLICE AND CRIME COMMISSION WASTING MORE TAXPAYERS MONEY – It’s been a difficult couple of weeks for the Police and Crime Commissioner Ann Barnes; especially with the embarrassment of having to let Paris Brown, the new Youth Police Commissioner, at just 17 years of age, resign over the foul tirade of racist and homophobic tweets
Unfortunately for Ann Barnes things are not getting any better. After spending hundreds of thousands of pound of the taxpayers’ money she has publicly described her own job as a ‘wilful waste of public money’; which clearly shows the British taxpayer just how incompetent the whole system has become.
Despite wasting £15,000 a year on Paris Brown, Ann Barnes has also spending another £90,000 to hire a chief of staff.
Just wait a minute… while you might be scraping by on less that £15,000 a year (and some people earn much less) Ann Barnes spends a further £6,000 a month in salaries to so-called ‘special advisers’ and an additional £300 a day to pay a former Police Authority colleague per day to advise her.
I have some advice for you Ann Barnes and I honestly feel this would be the same from any other hard working taxpayer; and I’ll give it for free… do the country a favour and resign – your job alone would cut £85,000 a year out of the budget and then we could focus on getting rid of the other freeloaders.
Now you might think I’m being just a little harsh, but what I am is incensed that anyone could be so wasteful of our tax money, openly admit it’s a wilful waste, and yet continue to do so because of the old attitude – ‘I’m alright Jack, so never mind anyone else.’
I think Ann Barnes is delusional and this comes from the fact that she spent £15,000 on a ‘battle bus’ that she dubbed ‘Ann Force One’ – do we really need any further evidence that this woman is narcissistic and that her ego is simply being fuelled by the taxpayer? It doesn’t get any better I’m afraid… Ann Barnes also had produced a 30 page ‘Budget Plan’ which included, in its glossy pages, no less than sixteen photographs of herself – I’m wondering if she was hoping people would want signed copies; I wouldn’t mind one and I would file it in the category of the UK’s Most Wasteful and Self-Centred.
On top of all her failings it was Ann Barnes, during her tenure as Deputy Chairman of the National Association of Police Authorities, that advised the Home Secretary, that the role of the Police and Crime Commissioners was completely unnecessary and wasteful – funny how a person’s tune can change when they are offered £85,000 a year to do absolutely nothing other than making the Police Force look completely incompetent and a laughing stock of the British public.
Do you really think I’m alone in my view that Ann Barnes should resign; and better yet refund the taxpayer? Here’s just one comment on the Frontline Officers Facebook page:
“Utterly incredible. I never thought that such a huge gravy train would follow with all that officers are struggling with. How on earth is this equitable and fair?”
The thing I find most disturbing and offensive here is that Ann Barnes is not alone when it comes to raping, pillaging and squandering the taxpayers’ purse. Sue Mountstevens in Avon and Somerset, has announced that she wants to appoint a ‘Youth Champion and Health and Well-being Officers’ for £40,000 – Yes and I would like a villa in the Bahamas and a Private Yacht but let’s be real here. Of course the truth is that these people are NOT living in the real world and when you have such a large pot of cash available, with little or no accountability, then it is painfully obvious some people will abuse it to the full; as in this case.
Once thing I am sure of is that no matter how many Ann Barnes that we expose as frauds and finally get rid of they’ll be another along to take her place; which clearly shows how incompetent Government is at control cost or appointing the right people.
I am waiting for the news to break where Ann Barnes finally steps down and it will come as no surprise when the Government announced some form of compensation for her dismissal that will be so vast that she’ll certainly be able to afford the villa I want in the Bahamas.
Conclusion… I should have gone into politics but unfortunately I have too much self respect and I believe in working for what I get; so that counts me out of a nice cushy Government job.
