PRESS VILIFIES HRH WILLIAM AND KATE KENSINGTON PALACE REFURBISHMENT – The living quarters that HRH William and Kate will eventually call home is currently being refurbished at a cost to the taxpayer of approximately £1 million and the press and public appear to be ridiculing them for such an extravagance.
Earlier this week I wrote an article on how the British people now spend more time and interest in celebrity gossip than they do over serious issues such as politics; the idea of the article was designed to wake the British public up to the real issues and not the daily misdemeanors the celebrity sect is getting up to.
It looks like my article was wasted and with the reports coming in over this story just further cements my belief that the British public have seriously lost the plot; I could use the word demented but that would be the kindest thing I could write.
So let’s have at it… what’s the problem? Well the issue here is that HRH William and Katie are having all this money spent on their home and the public doesn’t appreciate having to foot the bill.
Of course the public didn’t have much to say about the recent scandal where MEPs where turning up for work at 6pm, signing in, collecting their daily €300 expenses allowance and then buggering off to the pub.
Nope, not a lot was said about that which goes to show you the level of mentality in the British public. Here are MEPs, non-elected people controlling our every move and stealing taxpayer’s money without a hint of benefit and yet the British public is nonchalant to it.
Going back to William and Kate; they have also been admonished over their traveling during the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee celebrations where they visited a number of other countries including Singapore, Malaysia, the Solomon Islands and Tuvalu; all of which cost the taxpayer nearly £400,000.
I was astounded at the level of unwarranted and moronic comments some people were leaving on a number of comment boards and social media. It appears there are those who think both William and Kate are benefit scroungers and they, and even the Queen, should foot the bill themselves.
Of course this is the true side of the British public; more concerned by a piffling £1 million than they are over the billions that David Cameron is giving to the ever wasteful conglomerate we call the EU.
David Cameron lives an extremely comfortable life at the expense of the taxpayer. In fact so does the rest of the Cabinet and MPs. While I’m at it, those non-elected idiots in the EU are taking the taxpayer for a ride to the tune of £182,000 each and that doesn’t include the €300 expense allowance per day.
Before you adorn yourself with your shining armour and mount your snowy white horse you might like to ask what David Cameron, Ministers, MPs and non-elected MEPs actually achieve for the vast sums it costs the taxpayer.
You might also like to consider how often Government works – that is physical work in Parliament.
Now look closely at William and Kate and look at the Queen. All spend most of the year actually working for the interests of the British people. Collectively the Royal Family brings in billions of pounds every year in trade and tourism and yet their is a quarter in the British public who are so blinded that they either cannot see or refuse to see the benefits of the Royal Family and the expenses they incur.
Wake up people and concentrate on the larger issues; if you spent more time carefully examining what goes on within our Government and the EU then you probably wouldn’t be worrying about austerity measures as you do now.
God Save the Queen!
Yes, I’m a patriot and proud to be one.
