PRIVACY PAYBACK FOR GOOGLE BOSS ERIC SCHMIDT – At the grand old age of 48 I’ve learned to be more diplomatic over the years and I’ve learned the valuable lesson of knowing when to keep my mouth firmly shut.
Recently Eric Schmidt, the Google’s CEO, made a comment about people’s online privacy…
“If you have something that you don’t want anyone to know, maybe you shouldn’t be doing it in the first place.” Eric Schmidt, CEO Google
Ah yes those immortal words and how well rounded they were and how apt it is that such a statement is able to come right back and bite you firmly on the backside.
I don’t like to gloat or make light of anyone’s misfortune but there are times when it is rightfully justified and when it comes to Eric Schmidt the guy, in my book, is a low life and the public needs to see him for exactly what he is… a cheat.
Well Eric you should have lived by your own words for now we all know your dirty secret of playing the field and your unfaithful shenanigans; much to the disappointment of your long suffering wife.
Eric Schmidt has been accused of everything, from avoiding paying billions in taxes from Google’s earnings on UK operations to profiteering from terrorist related videos on its YouTube operations and finally taking little action to prevent the spread of child pornography on the internet.
Eric Schmidt recently remarked that whilst it has a ‘zero tolerance’ policy on child abuse content it is unrealistic to expect Google to be able to police the billions of images, text and videos generated by users. It would, as Eric Schmidt put it; “be a Herculean task and any such controls could inadvertently restrict legitimate content.”
If Eric Schmidt takes that stance then why bother with the development of Google’s Anti-Spam algorithms; including Penguin and Panda? Surely such algorithms are a Herculean task and it is already established that many legitimate online businesses have been severely damaged, and in many cases put out of business altogether, by such on-going developments.
Let’s tell the truth shall we… Google doesn’t care about child porn or terrorist related material is stores on its servers. This, and all the other content, is capable of serving up Advertisements from Google Adwords which last year alone generated profits of nearly $40 billion. Do you honestly think Google is about to take steps that could hurt the bottom line?
As in the case of Google’s Algorithms, well that’s a completely different story. Google doesn’t care about serving up relevant results it cares about serving up its own results.
This was made perfectly clear when the U.S Justice Department announced that it could find no evidence of Google manipulating its search engine algorithms for its own commercial gain.
Strange though that the EU Commission refused to follow suit and did a far more thorough investigation whereby it turned up clear evidence that Google was manipulating or bypassing its algorithms altogether in order to squeeze out any potential competitors to its growing number of services. This Google finally admitted and promised to end such a practice; but only after it was threatened with massive fines.
I guess Google didn’t pay off the right people; well that’s the conspiracy theory that was floating around after the U.S Justice Department was made to look extremely foolish and completely incompetent over its investigations.
Let’s get back to Eric Schmidt and his poor wife. For years Eric Schmidt has spent vast sums of money in order to keep his private life private. With the statement he made above, this infuriated many anti-Google advocates who feel that Google is no longer the moral beacon of the web but rather a deceitful, under-handed and immoral company who hands over private information to the U.S Intelligence Services, notably the NSA’s dirty project PRISM.

Many online advocates went digging and found that Eric Schmidt leads almost a double life; notably leaving his long suffering wife at home to engage in charitable work while he jaunts around the world jumping into bed with anything that’ll open its legs.
Let’s face it Eric Schmidt is worth over $5 billion so getting laid is not difficult. One anonymous source told us; “If my dog looked like Eric Schmidt I’d shave its arse and teach it to walk backwards.”
Not a very kind comment but that’s the extent to which some people vehemently dislike Eric Schmidt and they are currently rubbing their hands with glee over his numerous affairs that have now been brought to the public’s attention.
I personally don’t like to see people, celebrities or high-profile individuals, getting dragged through the mud; I really don’t see a need for it but there again there are times when it is so justified and when it comes to the likes of Eric Schmidt and Google and their ‘holier than thou’ attitude or the perception that ‘we’re so big we’re untouchable’ it really does come right back to slap them in the face and it is so justifiable.

Some sources have suggested that now this has been brought to light Eric Schmidt should step down. I would say that’s most unlikely as Eric Schmidt has been the catalyst for shooting Google to superstardom and making it the most powerful internet company in the world. I doubt very much, with all their brains, that Larry Page or Sergey Brin, would have the front nor lack of moral compass to achieve such heights.
Google is no longer that fledgling company with the ideology of making the web a better place; it’s now a corporate behemoth in the hands of Eric Schmidt would cares nothing for the morality of the company, it is and will remain a cash generating machine that is designed to please or help no one except its executives and shareholders.
