RACIAL PROFILING ROW OVER ARREST OF ILLEGAL Migrants – In a bid to hunt down and deport illegal migrants the Home Office has come under fire from Human Rights groups for racial profiling.
Enforcement officers have arrest nearly 140 suspected illegal migrants in a recent exercise but some groups are accusing the Home Office of gloating and racial profiling as it took to twittering the event and results.
Labour Party members have expressed their outrage and accused officers of targeting anyone who wasn’t white.
Despite the fact that David Cameron and Ken Clarke have referred to Nigel Farage and UKIP members as ‘fruit cakes’ and ‘closet racists’ it was in fact Nigel Farage who stated that on-the-spot checks is not the way to go about arresting or removing illegal migrants. Cameron and Clarke’s words continue to come back to haunt them.
The Home Office, and more essentially the enforcement officers, has been accused of being heavy handed in their approach of hunting illegal migrants down and arresting them.
The Government has lately implemented a number of plans in order to reduce the number of illegal migrants in Britain, including the controversial van with the ‘Go Home’ poster.
Activists groups are claiming that the Government is turning Britain into a hostile environment as officers are clearly targeting people of either a black or Asian appearance. Some groups are asking the Government to provide illegal migrants with an amnesty to allow them to turn themselves in to the authorities without the prospect of facing detention.
The Home Office and enforcement officers have stated that the areas and people they are targeting comes from intelligence work of where illegal migrants are most likely to exist and only focused on individuals who either attempted to flee or avoided being stopped.
Anyone denying that Britain has a problem with illegal migrants either doesn’t read any news or simply delusional. The vast majority of the British public wants better immigration controls and certainly wants the streets cleaned up of those who have no right to be in the UK.
It appears that the Government has two choices; either talk about tackling the problem or implementing positive action and yet both appear to result in the Government being lambasted.
The trouble is we are too quick to slam any action with the ‘racist’ label; simply to avoid being called a racist for targeting a particular group of people.
Statistical information already clearly denotes that most illegal migrants are of a particular ethnic persuasion; that is they are rarely white. The colour of a person’s skin is quite frankly irrelevant; although colour along with other traits can determine a person’s country of origin.
Is this racist? For some that’s exactly what they will call it and give it the clear definition of ‘racial profiling’.
I like the idea of an ‘amnesty’ but how effective will that be? The vans roaming around with the ‘Go Home’ posters is a form of amnesty and yet it appears to the activities that this is degrading and will frighten illegal migrants.
So what’s the answer? How can we provide an amnesty without publicizing it or how can we remove illegal migrants if we can’t use profiling to capture them?
The answer to these questions is obvious; we can’t. Britain, as far as the illegal migrant is concerned, is a joke; they know we are so tied up in our self-righteous political correctness that no matter what we do it will be deemed as racists and therefore not permitted.
This only adds to the problems as the message is clear; come to the UK, don’t worry about being illegal because if anyone even looks at you the wrong way you can cry ‘racist’ and that will ensure you can never be deported.
Do you think what the Home Office is doing is racial profiling? Do you think what their methods of capturing illegal migrants is wrong? Please leave your comments below.
