RICHARD BRIERS DIES – It is with profound regret and sadness that I report the death of Richard Briers at the age of 79.

After years of heavy smoking and to his own omission it brought on bouts of emphysema, which would eventually take his life.

Richard Briers was certainly a household name is good clean entertainment of which his role in ‘The Good Life’ really did make him a very well known TV personality.

I have never read or heard anything or anyone saying anything bad about Richard Briers which is a tribute to just how well was loved and respected, by both his co-stars and the media.

The world today has lost a true bastion of British entertainment and one I sadly feel can never been replaced.

I never missed an episode of the Good Life but I will sorely miss an actor who has given me and millions of others so much joy during his lifetime.

May you rest in peace and look down upon us with that wonderful warm smile and glint in your eye.
