RICHARD BRIERS IS LAID TO REST – Richard Briers graced our televisions with a wonderful array of entertainment during his life and the ‘Good Life’ was one show that many fans have certainly missed since its final series in the late 1970’s that saw the show run for 3 years. What a plethora of joy Richard Briers and his co-stars provided.
Richard Briers personified everything the British public loves about good clean, honest and decent entertainment.
Yesterday Richard’s life was played out for the last time among family and close friends, who described him as a man of great ability, humility and above all a man who love his family and friends deeply.
Richard Briers also received a CBE from the Queen for services rendered to entertainment and this moment in his life was joyously shared with his wife and grandchildren.
It is so hard to write articles, such as this, because words often fail to express the deep loss. While I and millions of other people around the world, who were thoroughly entertained by Richard, but never had the privilege to meet him, there nevertheless is a deep sense of loss and a knowing that our nightly entertainment will never quite be what it once was, thanks to the likes of Richard Briers.
Over 200 hundred people, family, friends, many of whom are working colleagues paid tribute to a man that they noted, ‘could make friends with anyone’.
From a personal point I for once, along with millions of others, will sorely miss Richard and all the enjoyment he provided. What can you say about such a person that gave so much apart from Thank You Richard for all the immense pleasure you gave, may you rest in peace and find love in the arms of the angels.
