ROMANIAN CHILDREN PICKPOCKETING TOURISTS FORCES LOUVRE TO CLOSE – The Louvre is one of the world’s most iconic art galleries and draws millions of tourists per year to the French capital of Paris.
Today staff staged a protest by walking out of the Louvre in the exasperation that management are doing little to curb the increased numbers of Romanian children who enter the Louvre, not to admire the beautiful art work but rather to pick the pockets of unsuspecting tourists.
The growing problem is putting off tourists visiting the iconic gallery as the numbers of Romanians continue to enter France and alarmingly the numbers are from that intent on engaging in criminal activities.
The Louvre despite putting on more security personnel to protect its 30,000 visitors a day has not experienced a decline in the criminal activity but as staff point out the situation is getting worse.
The staff trade union has also met with the Ministry of Culture in order to discuss the growing problem and how to tackle it before tourist no longer bother coming.
Most of the pickpockets who have been caught are children who are in turn run by criminal Romanian gangs – this is organised crime at its worst as the Romanian gangs are fully aware that authorities are unable to prosecute young children.
Because of EU Human Rights Laws staff is unable to prevent the children from entering the Louvre. Once they then proceed to target tourists in groups, often with one or two harassing the tourist for money while the others take to picking the victims pockets.
It was only two years ago that the then Interior Minister, Claude Gueant, remarked that almost all of the street robberies in Paris were carried out by Romanian Immigrant children.
Romanian crime remains a huge crime for the French authorities and this problem, as the Romanians migrate, is becoming a serious problem for other parts of Europe and the United Kingdom.
Many British people are wondering how the British Government intends to control the influx of Romanian immigrants when the Right of Free Movement comes into effect on the 1st January 2014. Currently it has been ascertained by organisations, such as MigrationWatch.org, that the Government is completely clueless as to how many Romanian and Bulgarians will flood through our borders.
It is common knowledge that the UK and other parts of Europe are already experiencing high levels of crime from the influx of these people and many British Citizens fear that the UK’s crime rates will continue to soar if the Government does not curb immigration figures.
Unfortunately the UK already has the unenviable reputation as having the highest level of violent crime anywhere in the EU and once the floodgates are opened this problem, as most see it, will continue to grow and plunder the UK into a segregated society where the streets, day or night, are no long safe to tread.
