SLINKACHU AND THE WORLD OF THE LITTLE PEOPLE – It’s funny how your taste and perceptions to things change as you get older; I guess people just learn to appreciate the little things more.
As a kid I hated all type of vegetables but now I can’t get enough of them. As for the world of art I’ve always been fairly artistic myself and during my school years I became fairly skilled on the potter’s wheel.
I never really did like abstract art but in my senior years I’ve grown to understand and like it more. We all have differing tastes in art but I like to keep an open mind and whether I personally like the piece or not I can at least appreciate the dedication and skill that’s involved.
Slinkachu specializes in the miniature; that is taking an everyday scene, shrinking it and then adding to it that really provokes a little thought and gets the viewer to look just that little bit closer.
Here’s a range of Slickachu’s images for you ponder. If you like what you see there is more on the slickachu.com website and blog.
Notice anything unusual about the scene? Look closely at the base of the steps to the slide.
Up close and personal and you see a young man right in the middle of a perilous mine field.
Just an ordinary playground scene but what’s with the banana skin?
A poignant reminder that not all of us live in luxury accommodation.
Another playground scene that appears normal but in fact there’s a struggle for survival going on.
It’s not every day you come across a mutant snail armed with a cannon and the only protect you have is a few rocks.
It’s a walk in the park… well not for everyone.
Bigfoot for some is more than a reality that we can really appreciate.
Scratching a living in some parts of Africa is reality for many.
And the drugs problem is enhanced vividly in such places.
To spread your wings and fly across the oceans; a freedom many dream of.
Of course flight for some is much cheaper with a couple of hand-me-downs.
I hope you liked the art work; some of it is very thought provoking and others are just for fun. If you want more there’s a link to Slinkachu website above.
