SYRIAN REBELS WARN SYRIA COULD FALL TO JIHADIST TERRORISTS – Syrian rebels last night warned the west that more Syrian rebels were defecting to Islamic terrorist groups linked to Al Qaeda due to the lack of western support in ousting Bashar al-Assad.
Now hundreds of Syrian rebels are joining forces with Islamic extremists in the Al Qaeda linked Nusra Front and others in recent days.
Syrian rebels fear that without western support Syria could fall into the hands of jihadist groups which would only exasperate the tension within Syria its relationship with western nations.
According to Syrian rebels two entire brigades have abandoned their posts to take up arms with the Nusra Front swelling the jihadist numbers to over 750 armed personnel; in just that group alone.
In recent days activists from the Ragga group uploaded a video that showed a massive convoy of armed rebels and is believed to be made up of newly unified forces of Ragga and Nusa freedom fighters.
The truth is that this is a civil war being fought on so many different fronts it is almost impossible to determine who the west wants to assist.
On one hand we have the so-called tyrannical dictator Bashar al-Assad and yet on the other we have the Syrian rebels who appear to have no unification. These rebel groups are mostly loyal Al Qaeda terrorist groups; and not just one faction but also that of Nursa, Levant and others and as they become disenchanted with one another they too split off in to Islamic terrorist factions.
Al Qaeda fighters are a rival to the so-called Syrian rebel group and even they have been fighting among one another; despite claiming to support the cause of toppling Assad.
It now appears that some groups are forming alliances and yesterday Al Qaeda fighters and Syrian rebels called a ceasefire, against one another, in the town of Azaz.
It is, as many journalists have dubbed it, a civil war within a civil war, and many feel that any intervention by western nations will not only have no impact on bringing about peace but could in fact fuel Islamic hostilities against western governments and their citizens.
The U.S, Britain and France are now voicing concerns over who they actually intend to aid for it is now becoming far less clear.
Inside reports are suggesting that many of the Syrian rebels are joining radical groups in order to strengthen their positions.
The Islamic groups are now gathering strength after calling upon their ‘brothers’ to take up arms and many of the newcomers are from areas such as Afghanistan where they have been at war with western forces.
Some divisions within the Syrian rebel groups are warning western governments that any assistance at this point would most likely result in them aiding Al Qaeda in taking over Syria – this will result in the west being culpable of removing a tyrannical dictator and installing known Islamic terrorists in to power.
Yesterday Bashar al-Assad’s government delivered some details of its chemical weapons to The Hague in order to stave off any possible U.S led military strikes. It is planned that such weapons will be destroyed under a joint U.S and Russian lead team of inspectors.
Many feel that there are simply too many factions to consider here and that any U.S led military strikes would be futile. Whilst many people around the world condemn the violence it appears there is no end in sight and that there is little anyone can do but sit back, monitor and report on the escalation of violence.
