THE SIMPSONS CREATORS TO KILL OFF MAIN CHARACTER – Speculation is rife over the decision by the creators of The Simpsons to kill off one of their main characters.
So who? Could we really witness the demise of Bart, Homer, Marge, Lisa or indeed any of the other characters that really do make The Simpsons so unique?
The Simpsons producer, Al Jean, last Friday announced at a press conference during the promotion of The Simpsons 25th season, that one of the main characters would meet a grizzly end – but the producers are remaining very tight lipped on who that character will be.
With speculation abound bookies around the world are giving odds on which character will be eliminated including:
Edna Krabappel – 5 to 1
Sideshow Bob – 6 to 1
Comic Book Guy – 6 to 1
Grandpa Simpson – 7 to 1
Snake – 8 to 1
Apu – 9 to 1
Krusty the Clown – 10 to 1
Moe Szyslak – 12 to 1
Odds for any direct member of the Simpsons family, such as Bart, Homer, Marge are not really being considered as probably contenders; although some feel that the producers might provide their audience with an enormous shock.
I doubt very much if the producers would in fact kill off the likes of either Bart or Homer for they are the golden gooses of the show; Bart being the prankster whilst Homer being the clown.
You might actually be able to work out how ‘WHO’ if you’re a sleuth for Al Jean did say that the character to be killed off is voiced over by an Emmy award winner.
Yes, that’s a little vague for most of those actors and actresses doing the voices for The Simpsons have indeed won an Emmy Award in the past.
It was of course Maud Flanders who was the last character to be killed off in The Simpsons but that was some 14 years ago – it would appear that The Simpsons appear immortal and I think I will have a small bet on Grandpa Simpson; it just feels like the natural choice and could create a story-line that brings the whole of Springfield together.
According to Al Jean, the 25th season is going to be full of surprises; like Homer getting stuck in an elevator with a pregnant woman who he helps to deliver the baby and apparently the baby is going to be named Homer Jr.
There is a twist to this plot for the woman doesn’t have a husband and the producers say that Homer will form a bond with Homer Jr. that is closer than his own family bond – could this indicate that Homer could be killed off or will Bart feel rejected and be killed off in some way?
I could of course run through a number of scenarios that would indeed provide possibilities for any of the characters to be killed off and I’m sure you have your own.
Come on Simpsons fans… who do you think will be killed off? Leave your speculations below.
