TIME TO PULL OUT OF AFGHAN – In what is to be an explosive and damning report by the respected Panorama team, it is clear from their findings that the situation in Afghanistan that has cost the lives of many British and American military personnel is not going to change.
The documentary reveals the deep rooted corruption of the Afghan Police, where many are addicted to drugs and involved in criminal activities such as kidnapping and rape.
The area in focus is that of Sangin where to date over 100 British troops have died, and sometimes at the hands of the police.
Most of us are aware of the continuous handouts of the taxpayers’ money that David Cameron has been so generous with and yet despite our generosity and assistance nothing has really been accomplished.
While Panorama uncovers the truth of how the taxpayers’ money is used to buy weapons, ammunitions and fuel, it comes as no surprise that the police are openly selling these items to the Taliban. This farce simply goes to show the level of care David Cameron has for our British Troops – he knowingly provides arms that are sold to the Taliban in order to murder military personnel.
According to the documentary, the rape of young boys appears to be a favourite pastime of the Afghan Police and all this under the nose of Senior Police Officers who refuse to bring an end to the atrocities his officers are committing.
Many fear what will happen to Afghanistan once the Coalition forces finally withdraw and yet most view the situation as a lost cause and one where internal conflict will continue to rage.
From the actions of Afghan Government and its security forces it appears to most as if they are quite content with the situation as no doubt this will allow them to continuously hold out their hands to the taxpayer, and in turn use the most to fuel the internal conflict – there’s real money in war for those who instigate it and are able to supply arms.
The U.S Defence Secretary Philip Hammond has stated that he is extremely optimistic that the transition is proceeding well and that everything is going according to plan.
Optimistic is probably due to being short-sighted considering the number of Coalition Troops being murdered and the fact that Foreign Aid is being used to fuel the insurgents. Will this ever stop?
It is time the UK and U.S pulled out and cut off the supply of weapons, ammunitions, fuel and taxpayers’ cash.
The real problem appears to be that Islamic Insurgents, whether they are Taliban or Al Qaeda, dislike the West due to our incessant interference in their affairs. Isn’t it about time that the UK and the U.S, stopped interfering with their way of life and actually tackled the problems we have at home.
If the Afghan and the Iraqi’s for that matter want wage an internal war whereby they kill one another; what right do we have to intervene.
Of course with Iraq it’s all about oil and certainly not the sanctity of human life.
The time to pull out of Afghanistan has long past and in fact we should never of been there in the first place. If Afghanistan is so important to the likes of David Cameron or Barack Obama then suit them up with what our troops have and send them into the firing zone. I wonder how Cameron or Obama would react if it was one of their children who had been murdered by a Taliban or an Afghan Police Officer.
