TOP THAI UNIVERSITY DISPLAYS GRADUATION BANNER WITH HITLER – Chulalongkorn University in Bangkok, Thailand is listed as Thailand’s top academic facility. According to Thai officials Chulalongkorn University is on par with other world famous halls of learning including Yale, Harvard, Oxford and Cambridge.
It’s graduation time and for those about to celebrate the acquisition of their degrees it was decided to create a huge mural to proudly hang outside the University gates.
As you can see it depicts super heroes including Superman, Captain America, the Hulk and Adolf Hitler who is proudly giving the sieg heil.
A number of foreign students and tourists were in complete shock how anyone, let alone a top university, could display a symbol that is nothing less than a depiction of pure evil.
According to sources we spoke to; all of whom wished to stay anonymous, this is typical of the Thais ignorance of the outside world. One source noted; “Thailand would be listed as the biggest perpetrator of human rights abuses if it wasn’t for the U.S giving it a ‘pardon’ each year; this mural is not only disgusting it further cements foreigner belief that this is a highly racist and bigoted nation.”
Strong words you might think but Thailand has a notorious reputation of unwillingness to acknowledge human rights and their apparent affection for Adolf Hitler is everywhere.
Recently a new fried chicken establishment opened in Bangkok that was to rival KFC; the name of the restaurant was Hitler and Colonel Sanders had been replaced with Adolf Hitler. It is reported that KFC is now intending to sue.
According to sources one news reporter contacted the president of the University for an explanation, but on getting through to his secretary she simply retorted that she’d never heard of Adolf Hitler and hung up the phone.
It appears incredulous that a university with such credentials (according to Thai officials) could display such a level of ignorance. The latest reports to come in over this debacle is that the President of the University has said that he will ‘look into the matter’ which clearly shows that even the President doesn’t have a clue and that it is likely, as with their human rights abuses, this will simply either be ignored or swept firmly under the rug.
Do you think the President of the University should be asked to step down and do you think Thai education standards are acceptable, considering this event? Leave your comments below.
