TORY COUNCILLOR TELLS SIR DAVID ATTENBOROUGH TO GO AND COMMIT SUICIDE – There are some truly great people in this world and Sir David Attenborough is one of them.
Left: Sir David Attenborough | Right: Tory Councillor Phil Taylor
Sir David is an accomplished broadcaster and writer and a recipient of countless awards including, a Bafta, National Television Award, Emmy and Royal Television Society winner.
Apart from educating us extensively with his incredible natural world television programmes he is also a Trustee of the British Museum, the Royal Botanic Gardens, an Honorary Fellow of Clare College, Cambridge and a Fellow of the Royal Society.
Sir David’s life, to date, has been nothing short of remarkable and he has provided the nation with a greater understanding of our planet and those who inhabit it – including mankind.
At the other end of the spectrum this is Tory Councillor Phil Taylor; his achievements consist of being a house-husband and having sat on a couple of school committees – yes not exactly a notable existence for someone of 51 years of age but Phil Taylor is your typical garden variety politician; that is distastefully, derogatory and quite frankly a despicable human being.
You’re probably wondering why such an attack and he’s the reason. Sir David made a comment that ploughing aid money into Africa with its ever growing population is not going to achieve anything. What Africa needs is population control; which needs achieving through education.
Sir David is an advocate to the belief that mankind will ultimately destroy himself and life on earth if their population numbers are not controlled. To understand more on this read:
Sir David’s African comments were hit back at by Phil Taylor with a tweet that said;
“I do wish this silly old fart would take a one-way trip to Switzerland. Practice what you preach.”
Phil Taylor’s comment has been condemned by Tory and Labour leaders as it suggested that Sir David should go to Dignitas and commit euthanasia – a comment that is completely and utterly outrageous but only further cements public opinion that politicians are both rude and vile.
Whilst Phil Taylor likes to think he is a person of high standing, with an important job, he is in all truth merely a ‘public servant’ for Ealing, west London; nothing more and nothing less and certainly couldn’t come anywhere close to Sir David’s vast knowledgeable understanding of our planet.
Julian Bell, Labour leader of Ealing Council responded to Mr Taylor’s attack on Sir David by saying it was fine to disagree with a person’s views but such a vile comment is truly disgraceful. Julian Bell is now insisting on either a public apology or for his resignation.
Personally I feel any apology would be little more than hollow words and that Phil Taylor should be relieved of his position – the very idea of asking him to resign is preposterous as it’s unlikely he’ll get a job elsewhere considering his curriculum vitae.
Sir David Attenborough is also a patron of Population Matter. This is a charitable organization that strongly believes that mankind must take population control measures seriously if mankind is to exist – again read the article linked above and you will fully understand why and the true scale of the issue.
Phil Taylor has given a statement that what he said was ‘simply off the cuff and didn’t intend to cause offence’ – he apologized.
The fact is that it Mr. Taylor’s comment was not only offensive but also showed his level of ignorance to world population issues; obviously being wrapped up in his own little existence doesn’t include considering the wider picture – a normal trait for most politicians.
