Petition: Ban Halal Slaughter of Animals in Britain

Support our petition to ban Halal slaughter in Britain. The practice of slaughtering animals for religious purposes is both draconian and barbaric and it is only ‘religious sensitivity’ from our politicians that has prevent Halal meat from being banned.

EU Moves to End Net Neutrality

The EU is now making moves, through a new directive, that would effectively quash net neutrality. Net neutrality covers three core principles which allows the internet to remain free and open. Destroying net neutrality will deny you your democratic rights to access free and open information. Don’t let this happen.

American Deported for Having Cancer

American Deported for Having Cancer… yes the headline is correct and in our view questions the UK’s humanity; or least the humanity of those in Government.

UK Ministers Decline to Block Online Porn to Children

UK MINISTERS DECLINE TO BLOCK ONLINE PORN TO CHILDREN – The subject of how easy it is for our children to access pornography on the internet has been banded about for as long as I can remember and once again the subject has been raised; but this time The Department of Education has said that after careful examination and receiving expert advice on the subject it was against forcing the ISP, Internet Service Providers, to an automatic blocking system.

The UK Government have declined calls to Block Online Porn to Children and say that the ISP's should self regulate the situation, even thought parents want an opt in system.

What would an automatic block mean?  Well in essence this would require any person wishing to view online pornography to contact their Internet Service Provide and request access; or as the term is coined, ‘Opt In’.

Would this really be such a bad thing?  It really comes down to how embarrassing it would be for such a scheme to work – Would people shun the porn industry if they had to opt in to view it?

Personally I think an ‘Opt In’ system is an excellent way to restrict pornography to our children.  Surely in this enlightened age we are not that embarrassed to ‘Opt In’ for legal pornography, if we wish to view such material.  After all there’s nothing wrong in viewing such legal material and in fact millions of people around the globe access pornography on a daily basis – the online porn industry has to be one of the largest suppliers of content currently available on the internet and that wouldn’t be the case if there was no demand for it.

On that note, and while I am all for people’s rights to freedom of speech, freedom of expression, this type of material surly should be for those of an adult age and that restricting access to pornography, to our children, is in fact the right and moral thing to do.

Alan Wardle, of the NSPCC, said: ‘The best option to protect children is for adult content to be automatically blocked by Internet Service Providers.

What disturbs me about this report is the fact that The Department of Education, whose job it is to protect and educate our children, came forth with excuse of ‘receiving expert advice‘ but did not explain where this advice had come from, leaving many to speculate that the Government coffers are nicely attributed to by those in the porn industry.  Well yes, there are always going to be conspiracy theories, but when the whole truth is not told what do you expect the people to believe or indeed be inclined to believe?

When the Government put this out to consultation 35 percent of those parents questioned said they would like to see an ‘Opt In’ system; and a further 15 percent went on to say that further controls where needed.

The issue here is that while we have right to view such material should our rights be upheld while violating the rights of others – especially our children?  Do we not have a moral obligation to protect our children?

Furthermore the people have spoken with a democratic voice and the result was a clear message that ISPs should restrict online pornography via an ‘Opt In’ system.  In this particular instance I have to ask the questions… Is the government elected by the people or those providing support funding?  Is the government a dictatorship where laws can be passed without the democratic voice of the people?

Forgive me, but the last time I check the Government clearly stated that the United Kingdom is a democracy and not a dictatorship and therefore its decisions should not be made by the influence of others, no matter how much they contribute to the government coffers.  There is of course only one sensible course of action to take and that is take the issue to the people via a regulated referendum and let the people voice their democratic opinion.

When will the citizens of the United Kingdom wake up and realise that we do NOT live in a democratic society but rather a dictatorship run by wealthy individuals and powerful companies which is of course all wrapped up and presented to the public by the face of the ‘Old Boys Network’?

David Cameron, and his cronies, couldn’t organised a stage night in a brewery and have zero interest in what you, the public voter, thinks.  If you think this useless piece of bacteria is bad then just look back at what the people voted for in the form of Tony Blair – ‘Champion of the People?’  It would appear now that the only championing Tony Blair was doing was for his own benefit and those closest around him.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, the only way the British People are ever going to see a true democracy is when they find a party that will give the power back to the people by referendum; and while the likes of Cameron may tell you this is not feasible, that is a direct lie, but let’s face it, it’s hard to get the truth out of a lair isn’t it.  A referendum system would be easy to set up and operate – we live in an age of digital communication, so don’t let government tell you that your voice cannot be heard.

Have you ever thought…? Next time the polls come around why not just stay at home and make your voice truly heard.  Abstaining from voting is not a bad thing and in fact when you are faced with the immoral, inept and downright incompetence of what is available from the current offerings of ministers and politicians your abstinence from voting would in fact be the moral thing to do.

Remember, blocking pornography to our children is a moral issue and when you have an immoral government how can you expect any decency?  Just remember that while you may only be one voice don’t ever let the government convince you that your voice cannot be heard.  For me, I certainly won’t be voting for any of the current offerings of pond life in the next election as it would be irresponsible and immoral to vote for those without any moral values or decency.
