BRITISH GAS TO ANNOUNCE INCREASING PROFITS AS CONSUMERS BILLS INCREASE – When it comes to detrimental laws the EU really knows how to pile it on for the UK Taxpayer, which is evident once more as the NHS announces it spent over £2 million treating pregnant women from other EU member states.
There is so much EU legislation that it is impossible to keep up with it all but this little know law has been brought to light, by the NHS, due to the increasing costs of providing medical care to pregnant women from other European countries.
Without getting into the actual technicalities of the EU legislation affecting this debacle, in essence the law states that any pregnant woman, from any EU member state may pick and choose the country where she wants to receive medical care, and give birth, and that it is the responsibility of that chosen country to foot the bill.
According to information, provided by the NHS, the average cost, to the taxpayer, for a birth is £1,631.00 and that just the number of Polish women seeking UK medical cost the taxpayer, in 2012, a whopping £850,000.
There is no doubt that this situation is getting worse with the increasing number of people from Eastern European turning up on our shores, demanding everything from free Housing, Benefits, Education and Healthcare, and once again you can thank Tony Blair for all these issues we now face.
In all fairness this door does swing both ways, in that British women are able to seek free medical assistance throughout their pregnancy and birth in all the EU member states.

According to some Government Ministers this EU directive was initially set up to provide ‘emergency treatment’ but like any other system it has been plagued with systematic abuse which the current Government is either unable or simply too inept to change.
