VILE COLOMBIAN VIRGIN AUCTIONS – It would appear that organised crime in Colombia is not content with simply murdering millions of innocent people around the world with the drugs they peddle as a new, vile and disgusting trade has emerge – auctioning off virgins for paedophiles.
This latest sickening trade involves Colombian street gangs ‘recruiting’ girls as young as ten years of age with the promise of a better life, fancy clothes and having their families taken care of financially.
Like the underworld of the drug cartels these promises are nothing but false and once the young girls are lured into their grips there is no way out and often these children are subjected to death threats if they refuse to co-operate with the ring leaders or their paedophile clientele.
Authorities in the town of Medellin, Colombia, have reported that the rise in ‘Virgin Auctions’ is reaching epidemic proportions. The town of Medellin is of course famous as the home town of the notorious drugs lord Pablo Escobar, who according to close aides had an insatiable appetite for very young girls.
During Pablo Escobar’s rein he was responsible for nearly 80 per cent of the entire world’s cocaine supply which eventually provided him with the title of 7th richest man in the world with an estimated fortune of over US$17 billion.
Escobar’s rein came to an end in 1993 as he was shot dead after trying to escape from police. His dead then sparked a change that revolutionized the town of Medellin, however officials are now exasperated as to what it has become.
Over the years the authorities have managed to significantly reduce the amount of drugs being produced and transported out of Medellin and in turn this has now boosted tourism.
Authorities have stated that whilst the eradication of the drugs trade was a significant achievement it has now paved the way for gangs of ‘capos’ to infiltrate the town and provide sexual services from very young children to both powerful Colombian citizens and paedophile tourists.
According to Colombian authorities the capos have an intricate network of underground operations in order to snare and sell young girls.
Often trusted clients are given physical brochures of the children that are currently available and sometimes password protected access to websites in order to engage in the auction. Authorities have stated that up to 60 children at any one time could be listed as ‘for sale’.
Prices for the children vary but it has been noted that prices can go as high at US$2,500 and that once the auction is complete the website is taken down and the brochures destroyed.
Writing articles of this nature sickens me to the very core of my soul; for no person should ever be subjected to this level of derogation by another; especially those most precious and innocent – our children.
We must, at any cost, provide the Colombian authorities with the means to eradicate such a vile trade for anything so sickening to exists only reflects our unwillingness to tackle such a problem – this in turn makes us and our Governments equally culpable to such a vile trade.
